📍 1840 Hakikugumiya, Asakura

"The service is very attentive, the environment and facilities are better than expected, and the city is comfortable."

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ★★★★

📍 Akizuki 1058, Asakura

"The room was spacious, and the private bath was excellent. Perhaps due to the high humidity from the long-term use of the private bath, the room had a musty smell, but that's unavoidable. The surrounding area was nice and quiet. Located in the small town of Akizuki, there are many unique local attractions nearby. The hostess spoke some Chinese and was very helpful. Since the hotel isn't accessible by public transportation, we took a taxi from Nishitetsu to Amagi Station, which took about 20 minutes. The hotel also booked a taxi for our return trip the next day. The accommodation and two meals were very generous. My husband's birthday was the day before, and the hotel even made a special effort to celebrate it with a cake, which was very thoughtful."

📍 MinaminoMori 1-chome 9-18, Asakura

"Originally, I just wanted to find a place to stay near Fukuoka Airport, but all the hotels in the city were fully booked. Unexpectedly, I managed to book a guesthouse about 45 minutes from the airport. After checking in, I discovered it was a newly opened hot spring inn, and we were among the first guests! It was a complete surprise. The room was brand new, clean, and spacious. The separate wet and dry area in the bathroom was a huge plus, and each room had its own private bathtub – truly luxurious. The central garden was designed by the owner himself, and the plants are regularly changed, so it felt like there was a different view every time I visited. The owner was very friendly; you can contact him directly via the app if needed. Parking was also very convenient, making it super friendly for travelers with cars. If you're planning a road trip in Fukuoka, I highly recommend adding this guesthouse to your list of options."

📍 Akizuki 518, Asakura

"Nearby is the Akizuki Castle, a place for cherry blossom viewing. It is within a ten-minute walk. The crowds are not as crowded as those recommended by Internet celebrities. It is less crowded but still beautiful."

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ★★★★
"This hotel, a fusion of traditional Japanese style and garden design, boasts stunningly beautiful dining areas and landscaped gardens. It's conveniently located just minutes' walk from the Akizuki Castle Ruins. The hotel offers private parking, so you don't have to squeeze with other guests during peak season. The staff all speak basic English, so communication was no problem. Our butler, Mr. Sakurai, was incredibly attentive and warm – a perfect 100! We were all very reluctant to leave him. The only issue was that our room type seemed to lack privacy; we had to go through a foyer to reach the bathroom and shower, even though the bottom of the foyer glass was transparent. There wasn't much space near the sink for personal toiletries, which was a minor inconvenience. There were also quite a few flying insects in the garden, which could be improved. Overall, however, it was the best hotel choice near the Akizuki Castle Ruins during our trip, and I highly recommend it!"

Koarashiyama Akizuki ★★★
"I booked this accommodation on this platform because it was marked as 'family-friendly,' 'child-friendly,' and 'suitable for young children.' However, as you can see in the photo, the smoking area with ashtrays is located right next to the main entrance. The host was constantly smoking there even when our young children were passing by, making it very difficult for them to breathe. They were reluctant to walk past, so we had to wait quite a while before going back and forth. The host was very kind. However, given that we witnessed the host smoking several times right in front of our children, I do not think they had considered removing the smoking area near the entrance. It was a stay where we had to be very mindful of many things. We had hoped to avoid contacting or speaking with the host, and although we are quiet and introverted guests, we ended up having to engage in too much unnecessary communication. There were many other inconveniences besides the smoking incident, but since the host was 'kind,' I will stop talking about the rest. This is recommended for those with an extroverted personality who wish to stay while maintaining frequent contact and communication with the host. Thank you."
