"We booked two rooms for our large family. Although the room types were different, we were very grateful that they were placed close together. The attention to detail was excellent, the view was wonderful, and the kaiseki cuisine was delicious. We were very satisfied. My elderly parents seemed happy, and I would like to bring them here again if we have the opportunity."

📍 Itaya, 1-1-1, inside Fukuoka Century Golf Club, Asakura

"A new onsen hotel in a golf club. The room is spacious and comes with private onsen. It feels very new and clean. Most of the staff doesn’t speak English but it was ok using translator. The filipino male staff was very helpful and we appreciate that."

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ★★★★

📍 Akizuki 1058, Asakura

"If you are looking for an experience that defines Japanese hospitality (Omotenashi), Ryokan Seiryuan is a masterclass in the craft. My husband and I recently spent two nights here in January, and the level of care we received was truly world-class. The service here is proactive rather than reactive. The moment we pulled into the lot in our rented car, the staff were already on their way out to receive us. This attentiveness continued throughout our stay; it felt as though the staff instinctively knew when we were stepping out of our room, always appearing to greet us or assist with our needs. When it came time to leave, they even hand-carried our luggage all the way out to the car park. The dining experience was a major highlight. We were served traditional kaiseki for both breakfast and dinner, and every dish was delectable. What impressed me most was the kitchen's flexibility. I do not eat beef or raw food, and the chef was able to cater to these dietary requirements without hesitation. Often, such requests can feel like a burden at traditional inns, but here, the adjustments were seamless and the quality remained exceptional. During our mid-January stay, the ryokan was incredibly peaceful—it felt as though we were the only guests there. This quietude added a layer of intimacy and relaxation to the trip that is hard to find elsewhere. While we had limited knowledge of Japanese, communication was never an issue. Between our basic phrases and the help of Google Translate, we were able to connect with the staff easily. Their patience and warmth transcended any language barrier."

Hotel Parens Onoya ★★★
"I stayed at this hotel because there was a plan that you can upgrade if you post on SNS. It seems to have been renovated, so it may be a limited-time service. The exterior of the hotel looks like an old hotel, which makes me a little uneasy, but when I went inside, it was probably due to the renovation, and my worries were unfounded. There was a lounge with a view of the quaint Japanese garden, and you walked through the Japanese garden to the open-air bath and the dining hall (a place with a nice atmosphere and delicious food. They prepared a separate room for my pregnant wife). I upgraded to a Japanese-Western room with a panoramic bath for free, and the view was great. Perhaps because it was a weekday, there were no small children, it was not noisy, and the signs were only in Japanese, so I did not see a single foreigner. It was a great place to spend a quiet and relaxing time. I was a little worried about the cleaning staff coming in while I was bathing in the large public bath (the tatami bath had been renovated and was very clean) (I was a man, and the cleaning staff was an older woman), but I was able to spend the rest of the time without any particular issues. I would like to stay at this hotel again (especially the top floor)."

"This is a hotel near Hita Onsen Village that I frequent. Be sure to add the half-board option. It features an all-you-can-drink buffet with snow crab and red crab. It is the best."

View Hotel Heisei ★★★
"The location is on the mountain, quite remote, but close to Daguanyin. But the view is nice. If you choose a private hot spring room. The landscaping is very nice. However, all options include two meals. Somewhat restricted. It would be nice if there was an option to stay overnight. The outdoor and indoor public hot springs are completely separate. For outdoor use, you need to go out of the hotel and use it nearby. But the view is great, and some of the shower areas are open-air. When it's cold, it's uncomfortable. But there are also indoor showers, but cold wind will blow in. This is not ideal. Wish there would be an option for accommodation only, without breakfast or night. Will stay again if I have the chance."

"An excellent choice for family trips, especially if you are traveling with elderly relatives. The layout is very accessible and spacious, making it easy to move around with a wheelchair or walking aid. It made our trip so much more relaxing to know the space was fully accommodating. Highly recommended!"

Akizuki Spa Ryokan Seiryuan ★★★★
"We had the most amazing time at Seiryuan. The hospitality, the culinary experience at dinner, the privacy (we had the whole first floor to ourselves), the vibe of being surrounded by nature and of course the most memorable moments when we enter the dining hall with the most beautiful frame of the night view of the pond - Wow! Would definitely come back to Asazuki just to stay at Seiryuan :)"
