The Tytherleigh Arms

The Tytherleigh Arms ★★★

📍 Tytherleigh, Axminster

"My fault as didn’t check the small print but pub not open Monday and Tuesday for meals which was a real pain. Also breakfast could do with starting earlier in the week as 830am too late for business purposes, finally and a personal view hate self check ins so impersonal. Breakfast was very good"

Hills Farm Stays

Hills Farm Stays ★★★

📍 Hills Farm, Whitford Rd, Axminster

"Firstly, the farm is an amazing set up and the cottages are great spaces for large groups. We did the axe throwing/archery/shooting activity which was amazing and done very well. We also had Sunday roast which was delicious and as we were a large group, I was impressed how efficiently it went and how good the food was. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Steve was rude and unprofessional towards our organiser. Our barn was unclean and after 3 days of cold showers, I was pleased to return home to hot running water. The wagon shed was boiling due to the aga and the bedrooms could not be properly ventilated. Honestly, the farm had so much potential to be great this weekend, but due to a lack of care for the barns and those paying large amounts of money to stay, it sadly falls short. "

The Dairy at Wyke Farm ★★★★

📍 Wyke Farm, Axminster

"Wyke Farm is a fantastic place to stay. The accommodation is excellent, beautifully decorated and pristine. The layout is spacious and everything is catered for, from comfy beds to top quality appliances. The Whitakers are consummate hosts being great fun and nothing is too much trouble. The scenery is stunning and the location wonderfully relaxing and picturesque. The whole weekend was amazing and I would strongly recommend this for a family holiday, a quiet getaway or a party. Go for it!"

Cosy Snug Room - Near Lyme Regis - Private Balcony with Country Views & Free Parking ★★★

📍 Netherleigh, Cooks Lane, Axminster

"Heavenly stay at Nether Leigh B&B! Warm welcome from John with great communication leading up to the trip. Lovely room with a comfortable bed, kitchen area, fire place, and our own private balcony with a view of the countryside! Fab location, opposite was a delightful tea room, and we were just a 12 minute drive to Lyme front beach. John and Sue had put so much love and thought into making the room a home away from home - complete with fresh milk and THE most delicious ginger biscuits we’ve ever eaten! Great value too. 10/10 - cannot recommend enough."

Kates Farm Bed and Breakfast ★★★
"Kates farmhouse set in a beautiful location. Lovely room with en-suite, ground floor with bonus door to outside area. Good value. Quiet setting noisiest thing was probably a tractor going by. Kate was a wonderful host, loved meeting her canine companions Betsy & Rambo who both enjoyed a tummy tickle on the sofa! We had a hearty cooked breakfast each day. Accommodation suitable for those people who want a get away from it break."

The Tytherleigh Arms ★★★
"My husband and myself enjoyed a truly beautiful lunch here today celebrating our birthdays. What a find. The premises are beautiful, gorgeous cared for soft furnishings. Staff and food excellent. I have a dairy allergy; this wasn’t a problem as a dedicated menu was presented with many choices for each course. We can’t recommend The Tytherleigh Arms strongly enough. Portion size perfect. Care, attention and execution of our lunches was given with the highest of skill. A true gem. Thank you, hoping to return and stay over in one of your rooms."

Hills Farm Stays ★★★
"We only stayed one night, but it was a very comfortable stay in Axminster suite with a very comfortable four poster bed. We were glad we chose to eat in the restaurant, the chicken fajitas were excellent. Breakfast was also generous and perfectly cooked. The staff were friendly and very helpful, special thanks to Heidi for helping me with my booking. We would stay here again without hesitation."

The Dairy at Wyke Farm ★★★★
"A fabulous farm in wonderful countryside. The accommodation is top notch, nicely decorated with attention to detail. The bed was super comfy and the heating just right. John and Kathryn's renovation of all the buildings is sympathetic, tasteful but with comfort in mind. They are amazing hosts, have thought of everything and gave us lots of ideas of what to do and see. There are great walks along the coast nearby (plenty of mud but Wyke Farm has a hose and brush to deal with that) and ancient pubs for a filling lunch afterwards. Strongly recommend this as a base to explore or to hole up in bad weather and enjoy the lovely interiors."

"We stayed in the studio with our two dogs while visiting the fossil festival in Lyme Regis. It was super convenient for that. The studio is comfortable and has everything you need. We really appreciated the biscuits to have with our cuppa after a hot day walking up and down Lyme Regis and the fact the studio has a little gated yard so that we could leave the door open for the dogs. They really loved their treats too! John's instructions were really helpful and comprehensive. We hope to be back soon."
