We stayed here for 4 nights in September. This guest house let us down in so many ways. Their clever advertising and polished pictures do not show the reality which led to us being so disappointed and leaving a tinge of sadness at the end of our holiday. The owners of this property did not welcome us as you would expect, having stayed in several other properties around France where the welcome was fantastic. They gave us a tour which was lacking any interest in us as guests in their house. The room was large but there was only a small bathtub, no shower at all. The bed was large and hard. We did not sleep well. The stair was narrow and awkward. The shed with the cinema and tables looks tired. I asked if there were any towels for the pool and hot tub area and I was quickly put in my place – did you not read the booklet we sent out? We don’t supply towels. Which leads me to the booklet. We booked in June and then 1 week before arrival we received the ‘booklet’ with the rules. This booklet tells you important details, including the one about the towels. It also states you cannot bring in any food to be consumed on the premises. In addition, if you bring in any of your own alcohol you will be charged a €10.00 corkage fee. When you research the village, you will find there are no options to eat locally, the closest restaurant we could find, which was open in the evening on the days we were there, was in Pontorson which was about a 15 min drive. We would have cancelled the booking on receipt of the rule book, but the cancellation policy is 30 days, so we did not want to lose all our money and hoped the booklet did not tell the whole story about the guest house. We did eat in 1900 on our last night, and the food was lovely, but it was spoilt by the lack of empathy by the owners. We just felt they did not have any interest in their guests; they put the food in front of you and that was supposed to be enough. This is not how we experience the Table d’hotes elsewhere in France. Lastly, it is important to note that this guest house does not have parking. We had to park on our street wherever we could find space. We will not be returning, and we certainly cannot recommend this property.
