"I think it’s more of a ski lodge type of place. We arrived in a summer heatwave and being told the place does not have a/c and being asked to crank open a window really does not cut it. They have this invention called a FAN. Maybe invest in a few. Apart from that wonderful stay and very helpful staff."

""Stayed at Hotel Cristallo in Bormio and it was spot on. The location is perfect – right in the heart of town, so everything is just a short walk away: restaurants, shops, and the ski lifts. Our room had an amazing view straight onto the mountains, which made waking up every morning feel special.The food is a real highlight. Breakfast was generous with fresh pastries, local cheeses and great coffee, and dinner in the restaurant was outstanding – proper Italian dishes, well cooked and full of flavour. The staff were friendly and helpful without being over the top. Great value and we’d definitely go back!""

"We were at Hotel Gufo for a night and we were really good. The hotel is very nice, the rooms are super clean and well maintained. Breakfast varies, with a great choice of both sweet and salt. The dining room also enjoys a beautiful view of the tracks, the only little sin was the pads a little too high and the light that was filtering out of the window."

"I absolutely loved this Hotel, I stayed for 9 nights and didn’t want to leave!!! The staff are all amazing, so helpful and friendly. The rooms are practical and very comfortable, mine even had a little kitchenette behind cupboard doors , which I made good use of. The room also had a washing machine. A yummy breakfast was served to my room every morning. There is a cafe on site with very nice pastries including many Gluten Free products. And the steam room/ sauna/ spa area is to die for, exactly what you need at the end of a day out doing winter sports. But the thing that made this hotel stand out the most was the wonderful service from all the staff."

"We stayed as part of the GBNI team participating in the world transplant winter games. The hotel was allocated and we were very impressed. The whole place was spotless, beds were comfortable, breakfast and dinner was provided and was beautifully cooked and served. Waking every morning to the beautiful sight of the surrounding mountains started the day in the best of ways. All the staff were cheerful and friendly and went out of their way to help. Nothing was too much trouble. Walking paths into town and the local bus service were easily accessible. I would definitely recommend the Vallecetta."

"The hotel was perfectly situated for skiing and for the lovely town of Bormio were there's a range of restaurants and lovely shops. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel offered advice with ski school and sold the lift passes which was so convenient. There was a wide choice of food at breakfast and on the couple of occasions I ate at the hotel in the evening the food was really good. The rooms were very comfortable and clean as was the hotel. This would also be a great place to stay in the summer for walking / cycling holidays. I would highly recommend the Hotel Baita Dei Pini. "

Rooms are not soundproofed, you need to hope that you have educated neighbors and/or no screaming children, otherwise you don't rest well. "We stayed three nights at the Palace Hotel between Christmas and New Year. Overall, we had a great time. The location of the hotel is central and there is a free shuttle to the cabinovia. Rooms were well furnished and cleaned regularly, and we thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the spa. The staff was attentive and kind. There were plenty of options for breakfast and the food we were served at dinner was tasty as well (with the exception of an amatriciana pasta which was full of onion, although this was not stated in the menu). In particular, desserts deserve a mention. We would definitely come back as this is a great place to stay, but I'd recommend to reduce the heating in the rooms as it was too hot and not possible to be regulated, and to upgrade the hot tub in the spa."
