It’s a nice touch that they put the guest’s name in the room’s t.v & a small card from the housekeeping staff. I was happy with the cleanliness, until I saw a stain in the duvet/comforter (which looks like an old blood). I only saw it on the morning of check-out when the duvet cover accidentally opened when i was tidying-up the bed. I mentioned it to the reception staff & she said she will feedback to the housekeeping."

"This hostel has a great location, close to the city center. It's got a more chill vibe and not many events, but the bar, kitchen, and common areas are great for meeting people. Mariana is an excellent bartender! When I first arrived, I had to wait an hour to check in because they hadn't cleaned the room yet, so I'm knocking off a point for that. Otherwise, the person working the free waffle day (I forgot to ask their name) also provided great service. If the staff weren't so good, I would have docked another point because having to put on our own bed sheets was ridiculous. You absolutely have to try the absinthe at the bar. It was also great to have tea and coffee available. I'd definitely stay here again for the chill vibe."

"MUST READ BEFORE BOOKING THIS HOTEL Short and painful facts for future guests: Check-out is at 10:00 AM. Want to leave at 11:00 or later? They charge €10 per hour. It feels like a penalty, not hospitality. Breakfast costs €10 — don’t waste your money. It’s disgusting. Low quality, miserable selection, and unsafe hygiene. You’ll regret every bite. Want to use the facility (sauna, etc.)? €50–70. Nothing is included. Everything is a paid add-on trap. My stay at Hotel Modena was one of the worst hotel experiences of my life. The breakfast was a complete scam. The food was vile, poorly prepared, tasteless, and served in questionable conditions. Hygiene was clearly ignored. The buffet looked depressing, but tasting it was a different level of pain. €10 for this? No thanks — they should pay guests to eat that. Service was bottom-tier. Staff were rude, unwilling to help, and acted like guests were a disturbance. No standards, no courtesy, no competence. The location is awful. Far from the city, inconvenient to reach anything useful, and falsely marketed as acceptable. If your goal is to enjoy Bratislava or even move around comfortably — forget it. This hotel is not just bad — it’s below minimum viable hotel standard. ❗ Summary: Dirty breakfast · Paid-for everything · Terrible staff attitude · Awful location · Hospitality punishment rules"

The free, spacious parking is particularly noteworthy – a real plus for those traveling by car! Our large, modern room was clean, cozy, and offered plenty of space to relax. The bed was very comfortable, and the shower had good pressure – just what we needed after a long day. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, whether at check-in or with questions about excursions. The breakfast was plentiful and prepared with fresh ingredients – a great start to the day!"
