"Fabulous hotel in the very pretty Baska Voda. Hotel is right on the front with views of the harbour and sea. Such an excellent location, can walk left out of the hotel to Makarska, such a beautiful walk along the pathways on the seafront and to Brela and beyond on the right. Perfect location! We had a standard room ( only rooms left) but our room like the rest of the hotel was exceptionally clean, of a really good size, great shower ( always very hot water) and plenty of storage. The room had a fridge, hairdryer, kettle for coffee/tea ( replenished daily) along with a coffee pod machine providing 2 pods thereafter I think you had to purchase them. Not a problem for us as I always take my own tea and coffee. Housekeeping did an excellent job daily. The bed and pillows were the most comfiest we have had anywhere we have travelled, just divine! Breakfast provided an excellent selection of hot/cold foods, everything you could wish for with some lovely breads. We booked half board, the choices and cooking were better some nights than others but we always found something to eat. Plenty of restaurants on the doorstep to choose from if you wish to eat out. A bottle of wine, cocktails and all drinks were very reasonably priced in fact we didn’t drink anywhere else every evening. Big shout out to all the fabulous staff who served us at breakfast and dinner especially Kristina in the restaurant and Ivan who made the most excellent cocktails! All staff throughout the hotel were very welcoming, very friendly and we couldn’t have received better service. This was our very first visit to Croatia and I was rather anxious about my choice as friends were travelling with us. Absolutely no need, we loved this hotel, loved Baska Voda and we will definitely be returning to this wonderful hotel. Thank You all at Grand Hotel Slavia, for a fabulous stay!"

No towels on arrival ( had to go in my pyjamas to reception to request), handsoap didn't get filled up when empty, bathmat missing on some days. No nonslip mat in the shower. Entertainment very loud and almost unpleasant, conversation impossible. Food very unhealthy, repetitive, generally substandard"

"I wanted to go to Baska Voda and thought this hotel would be a good fit for us and I wasn't disappointed. We chose a sea view room but without a balcony. The room was very clean and had a view of the promenade, although the windows were rather small. Very comfortable beds, adequate storage, well appointed bathroom (even if the shower was over the bath, not my favourite). Safe and fridge in the room. But the rooms aren't the star of the show here. There is a great bar on the terrace with reasonably priced cocktails, the restaurant was good and the waiting staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and we ate at the hotel one evening, also good. The free spa is very well appointed, decent size pool, jacuzzi and gym. Also a wide range of payable services. All hotel staff are delightful. The hotel is in a prominent position in the village and the beach is directly across the road. Lots of restaurants to the right and a few to the left. Nice walks along the beach promenade in each direction. Overall the hotel is a great place from which to explore all the beautiful sites this part of Croatia has to offer. We will be back."

"Our family has just returned from the Bluesun Alga. We spent 7 nights here. It's ok. Rooms are small. The food was good. The staff completely ruined the experience for me though. They are not friendly. Not welcoming. If you've spent money and have booked a vacation, you want to feel 'looked after'. This is not the experience here. When we arrived (11pm) I was told to sign in to the WiFi, find my booking reference and email it to the hotel account. Guests should be made to feel relaxed and 'switched off' from the minute they arrive... Not logging on to their email accounts etc The staff couldn't care less about the guests. They are rude and dismissive. The cleaner audibly sighed when we said 'yes please' when she asked if we'd like our room cleaned that day. You just know if there is an issue with your room etc that you are not going to get anywhere when you bring this up. This also happened to us. The young guy who supervises the kids play room was the nicest member of staff we encountered. The pools are busy, small and overcrowded. We would definitely return to Tucepi... But we will be finding a 5 star hotel in the area and going there instead!!"
