Hotel D Bulle - la Gruyère ★★★★

"Good decent hotel with parking (extra), cozy, comfy. Only weird thing was reception explained that using amex for deposit it would take a long time to return the deposit so asked for a debit card, and proceeded to write down the card numbers on a piece of paper. After check out, the deposit was refunded but then got charged CHF 6 that was apparently for a San Pellegrino water from the mini bar. Ironic it being in Switzerland, where tap water is among the best in the world and readily available everywhere. Luckily I had a hunch and took a timestamped photo of the untouched minibar just before leaving the room, sent it in and got it refunded. Also requested them to destroy the piece of paper with my card details. Not sure if this is normal in Switzerland but just left a weird feeling to an otherwise pleasant stay."

"We booked this hotel because we wanted to save a little bit of money and it was nearby several of the attractions we wanted to check out like Gruyeres Caslte, the cheese factory and Maison Cailler. We came at night and were pleasantly surprised by the view we found from our window and the nearby Chateau Bulles. Bulles seems like a pleasant town but we didn't stay too long because we had quite a few activities planned nearby as we made our way through Switzerland with a car. The room felt charming and cozy. We appreciated that it had a Nescafe machine, a seating area, a desk and an adapter beside the bed. The bed was comfy and we got a good night's rest. The shower was good too but you may want to consider bringing your own hair products because they have an all in one dispenser. The front desk at the hotel has limited hours and closes fairly early and opens around 9 am. We were a little confused because we had "pre-paid" but our booking showed we had to pay at the desk so we waited a while and found out we were ok to go. We checked in after hours and the hotel had emailed us a code for their lockbox and it dropped down our room key. There is plenty of street parking near the hotel that is free in the evening and up until 8 am. The hotel also has a few free spots right in front of the hotel which was convenient. This was a nice hotel and would be a good base if you're planning to spend a few nights in the area because there are quite a few things to check out nearby. There are also a few good restaurants and cafes nearby."

"Google Review Summary Reviews are not Originally from Toulouse, we discovered the Tonnelier restaurant a few weeks ago when we came to Bulle and we are absolutely not disappointed! The location is ideal, the setting is absolutely magnificent and the welcome as well as the restaurant absolutely exceptional In short, everything was perfect! From the cocktail to the dishes offered on the restaurant menu, it was a real explosion in the mouth from start to finish. I recommend tasting their original dessert "Balade en Forêt", a very beautiful discovery that transports you. The service is perfect and the staff at the top of professionalism and friendliness. Special mention to the waiter Lucas G !!! I thank you very much for this moment and highly recommend this establishment!"
