Steigenberger properties in Cairo

I chose this hotel because it's right next to the Egyptian Museum, which was very convenient for my first day in Cairo when I was unfamiliar with the city. It's really close to the museum, and getting to Giza train station by metro to buy tickets was also easy. There were a lot of police cars around, so it felt very safe. The room itself was very new. The only minor issue was that I had booked a pre-payment model, meaning I would pay upon checkout. This usually isn't a problem in my home country, but here, they unexpectedly required a $150 deposit. The platform was responsive and said they would follow up if the deposit wasn't returned later, and the hotel also informed us immediately after receiving the payment. It was just a small hiccup, nothing major. Overall, it was a very good stay! 👍

I made a reservation and came here. It was a bungalow. Amazing. Since it's not next to the pyramids of Cairo, you should check the entrance carefully. It's fun because it feels like a resort in downtown Cairo.

We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my husbands birthday. The location is perfect for visiting the Pyramids/GEM. The reception staff were lovely upon checking in and it was a lovely surprise to see they had decorated our room and also provided a birthday cake for my husband. The room had a great view of the pyramids. The downside was the cleanliness of our room, I don’t think it had been hoovered as there was a lot of rubbish on the floor and the bathroom/toilet had some stains. The TV remote was not working but a quick call to housekeeping solved that which we appreciated. The room service was really good as was the breakfast buffet. I would recommend staying here for the hospitality and location of the hotel however, hope they improve their cleanliness.
