"A good hotel with a decent breakfast. The room was clean, and the pool was so clean you'd want to swim in it. The staff was attentive and the cleaning was timely. By Indian standards, it's an ideal value for money. Now for the nuances (I don't consider these a downside, since it's India :)) The beach is a 7-minute walk down a dirt road, surrounded by shacks and houses of local residents, with dogs. Alternatively, you can walk ***** the main, very busy road, which is about 15-20 minutes. We liked the shack on the left side of the beach best, in the very corner by the large rocks. I don't remember the name, but the price and service were good."

"We checked into Degarland hoping for a relaxing and comfortable stay, which is exactly what we got! The room was very clean and comfortable as was the bathroom. The air conditioning worked great and housekeeping came daily. The services (room service, laundry, pool and restaurant) were all excellent making it a really enjoyable time being there from morning to night. The highlight though is the Degarland staff who are all kind, welcoming and helpful. Special thanks to Varun the manager for being really helpful and just a great person to chat with. Our waitress Reshma was also so attentive and lovely throughout our stay. If you want to have a truly relaxing time in palolem definitely stay here!"

"I had a horrid experience in this hotel. I had travelled ***** with my wife and 2 young kids to the hotel on 16th Nov. I had booked this hotel via Make My Trip. On check-in to hotel I found that intercom is not working. After calling for room service came to know the intercom was not plugged into the socket! Meantime when I was trying to call the reception on the mobile number which they had given no one was picking up. It took several tries to pickup and this story was repeated several times during my stay in the hotel. Other examples of poor service and maintenance was that the AC remote sensing part was on the side of the AC instead of front. Main issue however was that there was no hot water for taking bath ! This is a very basic requirement for any hotel especially one which is located near the beach. I was not informed of this issue at time of check-in so first time I opened the tap and waited for the hot water to come for 20 to 30 mins before realizing that something is wrong. Only after calling I was informed that there is some issue with hot water service and that it will not get resolved during my entire stay duration. Alternate was for staff to provide me bucket of hot water. Now the problem is the staff would take 30 mins to bring this hot water and that too after multiple reminders. This incident with the hot water and the waiting time for buckets to arrive was repeated multiple times next 2 days and I got fed up of the hotel and asked for refund or reduction in the hotel amount for the pathetic service I was receiving. I was told that was not possible since I had booked via Make My Trip. After several such incidents and threatening to lodge a police complaint for harassment I was finally moved to an alternate property they owned in Agonda beach. I would suggest NOT TO EVER BOOK IN PALOLEM BEACH RESORT and SAVE YOURSELF THE HARRASSMENT FROM THE HOTEL and its staff/owner Major concerns 1. No one picks up at reception 2. No hot water , which is a very basic requirement for any hotel , especially one which is near beach 3. In general staff takes long time to perform any tasks 4. When issue is known still there is no attempt to improve the service 5. Breakfast is poorly managed, it took long time especially to get the puri or paratha to the buffet counter. You will feel like a beggar waiting for food or hot water here"

"I like the location - it’s tucked a bit away from the beach but everything’s in walking distance. The staff are kind and helpful- provided me with a kettle when I asked and kept bags during the day. The property felt secure and safe and is a bit of an oasis. Safe for a solo female traveler!"
