"I originally planned to stay at the winery, but I was not used to the rugged village roads, so I turned around and planned to find a hotel. I unexpectedly found this Certaldo, which was a great experience. I checked in at around 11 o'clock. The night shift manager of the hotel was also very patient and humorous, although his English was average. After checking in, he still took me to visit the history of the hotel, the restaurant and the swimming pool. The breakfast in the restaurant is even more appetizing, with at least 6 or 7 kinds of croissants, which is great."

"Went to the restaurant for lunch and was told to fill out a form on the items we wanted from the menu and give a time. I ensured that I made it clear that I wanted gluten free on the form and handed it to one of the waiters and discussed my allergy, she said that it was not a problem. We returned at the requested time and the waiter served our food which was 2 toasties, they looked the same so I asked the waiter twice if it was gluten free and they ensured that it was. I took a couple of bites and knew that something was wrong, I went in and spoke with the waiter who had served me and they had to double check, then someone showed me my menu request to say it was gluten free but I asked again if the toastie I just ate was gluten free and they told me that it contained gluten and I had received someone else’s order. Staff then attempted to tell me it was my fault for accepting the wrong order, and were very ignorant in dealing with the situation."

"Whilst the this accommodation is located in a beautiful area surrounded by greenery , the accommodation leaves a lot to be desired and not up to standard :- - Bathrooms lack proper shower door enclosures - Floor filthy to walk on - unexpected flight of around 20 steps to reach our accommodation - unfriendly receptionist - dated kitchen and furniture - opted for a dinner as arrived late - charged 38EUR per person"

"Not yet left this hotel (and don’t really want to!!) but wanted to write a review before leaving. Have enjoyed a wonderful 2 days here. Simple, clean, comfortable accommodation. We have been taken such great care of. The outdoor area of the restaurant is an idyllic place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We enjoyed a fantastic evening meal here too, with absolutely fantastic hosts who work so hard to make sure you have everything you need. A big thank you to everyone who looked after us."
