"This review covers just the restaurant as we were not staying at the hotel. The initial service was good as we arrived at 7pm and were one of only two tables in the restaurant being served. The food was great and the service was prompt. However, as the restaurant began to fill up, our waiter seemed to abandon us in favour of serving all the other tables instead. Having finished our main courses at around 8pm, our plates were never cleared before we decided to leave at after 8.30pm. The extraordinary thing was that the waiter was seating other diners, taking their orders, serving their meals and clearing their plates while walking past our table where it was obvious we had finished our meal and were ready for the next course. It was almost that, after having served us the main course, his job was done, or that he deliberately ignored us. The terrible service ruined what had initially seemed was going to be a lovely meal and evening. If the Hotel Macchi really wants to maintain its reputation as a luxury hotel-spa and restaurant, it should train its staff better."

"Super convenient accommodation for a skiing holiday as it is directly opposite gondola and ski-hire shop but also close to shops, bars, restaurants. There are ski-lockers on site. 2-bed apartment was cosy and would be fine for a family of 3-4 or a group of friends of similar size planning to eat in most evenings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Odalys offer discounts on equipment and lift passes if you book direct with them. "

"Just got home from our 4 night stay at Le Kandahar Hotel and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Upon arrival Allain gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the hotel. It was the perfect place to stay for our skiing holiday. Firstly, the steam and sauna was lovely after a long day of skiing. Secondly, the food was amazing! We only ate in the restaurant once, but the burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The restaurant always seemed lively with a good atmosphere. Lastly, the hotel and room was always clean and well maintained. All the staff were very polite and friendly. We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough!! Thank you Allain and all the staff at Le Kandahar Hotel."

"This is a lovely complex with great Spa facilities . We had one bedroom apartment with three people staying . We had enough space but wouldn’t fancy having four . It’s 10-15 min walk up the road but you can get bus , it’s not as bad as people make out . Ski bus every 15 mins in the morning We used the bakery delivery which was lovely and fresh and sensibly priced"
