"Wonderful bed and breakfast. We used it as a stop over on our drive from Cherbourg to southern France. Liked it so much we booked it for our journey home. Comfortable, clean accommodation. Quirky rooms, modern bathrooms (carved stone sinks). One of our rooms had a small terrace and beautiful freestanding bath tub. Our 17 yo daughter was provided with a comfortable camp bed. Breakfast was good, dinner was superb. Daughter pre-booked lasagne and loved it. My husband and I had steak. Delicious. Also nicest shrimp cocktail we've ever tasted. All prepared and served by the lovely Shelley. Would highly recommend staying and eating here. "

"A Wonderful Evening at Chambres D’Hôtes La Joyeuse We had dinner at Chambres D’Hôtes La Joyeuse last night, and what a lovely experience it was. From the moment we arrived, Marjan and her husband greeted us at the door with such warmth that we felt welcome right away. The room we were in had a cozy, inviting atmosphere exactly the kind of place where you just feel comfortable settling in for a good meal. And the food… absolutely fantastic. Every dish was full of flavour, and the Christmas-inspired touches made everything feel extra special. The flavours were rich, comforting, and honestly just stunning. Overall, it was a really delightful evening, and definitely great value for money. A wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed, delicious dinner . We will be happily go back again & again !"

"Another pleasant stay here on my way home from southern France. A pleasant welcome from the proprietress who speaks good English, comfortable air conditioned cabins and a decent selection at breakfast, though I wish the croissants and pain au chocolat were larger than the mini sized ones provided. It was a little cool this time for me to take advantage of the outdoor pool. The restaurant is well worth a visit (see my review of it)."

"most unwelcoming owner ever. not one word of kindness. impatient, after a 9 hours journey, a truly horrible welcome. not at all interested. Only one sentence “take your shoes off”. These are new owners, all the very positive remarks are for the previous owners, who were lovely!!"

"We booked out most of The Petit Nancay to attend a wedding and Clement and Michelle were a delight. Our french was a bit "broken" but we tried! Luckily, their English was great. The rooms look as great as they do in the photos and they have been done up to a very high standard. They were very accommodating and welcoming with a lovely breakfast made fresh each day with a lovely selection of produce. What more do you need? Great room, great breakfasts, a pool and hot tub. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking in the area"

"We stayed at Une escale en Berry as a stopover on the way down to south of France. It was the perfect stay for us as a family with a 3 year old - the Canopee room at the top was spacious, clean, modern and tastefully decorated. Noella gives a warm welcome and is very accommodating for any needs or questions you have. We opted for the evening meal during our stay which was served outside on the peaceful and pretty terrace. Both the evening meal and breakfast were delicious and nutritious home-cooked meals. We would definitely stay here again whether it be for one night while travelling south or for longer as a base to explore the region."

"We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this lovely B & B. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet and quite tastefully decorated. The proprietor, Nicole, is very happy, helpful and gracious. She prepared an amazing breakfast beside a warm fire with so many nice touches. It was an added bonus to meet her daughter and great-grandsons while we were there. Access is a little difficult right now due to street repairs all around the property, but persevere and you'll depart feeling very pleased with the experience!"
