📍 20 Rue Mal Foch, Condom

"Seemingly the last room available, it was sold (over 100 Euros) as a superior room! It was two single beds (only one pillow each so glad it was just me) and was on the front of the hotel with the window about 3' from every passing truck. I have (sadly) spent 30 years staying in hotels for work and this was the worst night's sleep I've had in all that time. The road outside is incredibly busy so sleep was just not an option. Also, there was nowhere to hang clothes at all, the desk light didn't work and if there was any hope of dozing off through exhaustion, anybody else having a shower on that side of the building made it sound like my bathroom was going to flood with the sound of water. Never again."

Maison d'hôtes de Charme les Bruhasses ★★★
"We loved our visit chez Hélène & Jean. We have stayed at more that 20 different locations in France from the Spanish border to Lyon during the last year and this property is among our favorites. Hélène grew up in the Gers and knows every corner of the area. You will never run short of things to do or places to go unless you want to relax and enjoy the beauty in front of you. If you are visiting the region, put Maison D'hôtes De Charme Les Bruhasses high on your list."

"Arrived for dinner having had a reservation made a week previously by the owners of the place we were staying. We were told that the restaurant was closed with no explanation why. Apparently they had contacted people who had booked but not us as it was a “foreign number”. Err, you mean you can’t dial a foreign number? And made no sense anyway as they had the details of a local. I would have been less annoyed if the tone of the conversation had not been that it was our fault. Terrible experience. Avoid."
