Heritage Lodge - in the Daintree ★★★

📍 236 Turpentine Rd, Diwan

"We stayed two nights in the family cabin here. We made the mistake of arriving after dark so it was a bit tricky finding the cabin, not to mention the dark windy road to get out to the hotel after crossing on the ferry. It would have been a little more peaceful to arrive before sunset. We thought it was fun they handed us a torch and an umbrella upon checking in. The cabin was large with high ceilings and was very clean without any flying or crawling bugs. There was AC which worked very well and a ceiling fan. We could hear the rain all night which was great. There were flowers and trees and a great atmosphere. Plenty of hot water in the shower, plus tea making things, a table, a small porch you could sit outside and drink your tea. Lovely experience! We were 3 and had plenty of space. We went on the trails outside to the streams although did not swim there. There was a small pool which we did not try. The breakfast that was included was very good and was bread, fruit and yogurt. They also offered scrambled eggs and bacon and other things for additional cost which was very convenient. The coffee in the restaurant was good. There was wifi in the restaurant area but not in the cabin so you could loiter at the restaurant tables if you needed to use wifi. They also had lots of books on the local area and all the tourist brochures for planning your activities. It was very convenient to travel to Cape Tribulation and to the boardwalks in the area from this hotel. Overall it was a delightful experience and I would definitely recommend it. It was really great to go on the boardwalks and explore the area and not have to leave at night. We really enjoyed the restaurant at this hotel also. So nice to be in the rainforest!"

"Great echo Lodge nestled in the rain forest. We stayed in a canopy treehouse with a a view over the greenery. Nice atmosphere with all the sounds of the forest and of course a chance of rain… Great location for a boat tour on the river and a visit to the Daintree discovery center."

Noah Creek Eco Huts ★★★

📍 Noah Creek Rainforest Reserve 3017 Cape Tribulation Road, Thornton Beach

"Unbelievable experience, tucked in the jungle surrounded by beauty..really beautiful and accommodating owners of the property, and can see the hard work they have put in to accomplish what they have to offer, walking trails, knowledge, bird life/sounds. Not to far from Port Douglas and the reef at your feet.. Accomodation is super comfortable and shower facilities on another level.. Great holiday and kids were blown away"

Daintree Crocodylus ★★

📍 Lot 5 Buchanan Creek Road, Cow Bay

"I stayed in this eco friendly accommodation with my FNQ family and we spent a lovely night eating and enjoying games whilst listening to the birds on dusk. In the morning, after a good nights sleep in accommodation in the middle of the Daintree rain forest, I could hear the birds waking up at the start of the day when the sun was rising. I walked to Cow Bay Beach and saw the sun as it rose across the water, and then I walked back listening to the birds singing their songs."

Daintree Peaks Eco Stays ★★★★

📍 22 Ironbark Rd, Diwan

"A peaceful, relaxing stay. We enjoyed chatting and comparing our overseas experiences with the owners, Greg and his wife Lisa. Our meals were straightforward homecooked food, more than adequate serves. The fruit salad at breakfast was freshly made using some of the fruits from their garden. The chalets are comfortable, good sized with a comfortable bed. Air-conditioning is available but we didn't need it in late September/early October as the as the windows provided good ventilation. Despite the setbacks of Covid and cyclones our hosts provide a good ecologically aware service. Wifi was also excellent. We would be happy to stay again. Thanks for the stay"

Daintree Wilderness Lodge

Daintree Wilderness Lodge ★★★

📍 1780 Cape Tribulation Rd, Diwan

"What an awesome place! Quirky rooms/cabins set out acrylic wooden bridges. Great welcome, very helpful and kind service. Lovely room with amazing shower, great breakfast and dinner menu. We experienced some amazing storms during our stay, we had an umbrella delivered to our door so we could get to breakfast dry. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Daintree is a beautiful region with gorgeous beaches two days may be enough to see the delights of the area."

"Jenni and I stayed at Heritage Lodge for two nights over the Valentine’s Day weekend. It was great - our bungalow was clean, tidy and comfortable. We loved the beautiful rainforest surrounds and enjoyed strolling the pathways to explore and look for rainforest creatures. The creek with its stunning swimming hole was a highlight and we made the most of it. Meals at “On the Turps” restaurant were generous and delicious. Thank you Heritage Lodge, from Rob"

"The most beautiful and tranquil stay. Andy and Lynette have cultivated the most relaxing and warm location, a must visit for anyone wanting to immerse themselves in the rainforest. Even in the wet season, and after the flooding and storms of late 2022/23, I felt so welcomed and was able to fully relax. Not a single fault - thank you both for your incredible hospitality! It really did feel like just me and the rainforest. A must stay for anyone travelling through the area, and it’s so great to see sustainability in practice, especially for a smaller business who goes the extra mile."

"If you want to be right in the thick of the rainforest, then this is the place for you. The tent style huts with mosquito nets over the bed, adds to the beauty of sleeping safely amongst nature. At night you fall asleep to the sound of the nighttime creatures wondering around your elevated camp style tent. Sally was away but her staff did an excellent job with a warm welcome when I arrived. Not being use to the heat & humidity, the pool was a welcoming sight. The camp kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to prepare your own food, if you didn’t bring food you can order a simple but delicious dinner meal from jungle cafe on site. A nice drive along the coast will bring you to Cape Tribulation where you will find cafes for breakfast & lunch. I stayed 2 nights on my own and I will definitely be back. If you’re looking for 5 star accommodation with the creature comforts of home. This place is not for you. If you’re looking to get back to nature and don’t mind a shared ammenities block, friendly staff, creepy crawlies, animals at your doorstep and the simple things in life. This is the place for you. Don’t forget to bring your insect repellent!!"

"Things started off a bit poorly as google maps tried to send us via the CREB 4WD track, but once we figured out there was a ferry that cut off about 4 hours of travel we were on our way. The chalet we had was clean and tidy and suited us just fine. Greg (host) provided us with home cooked meals (with the help of his wife Lisa) at night, and a two course breakfast in the morning. We had a couple of cold beers each night and enjoyed Greg’s stories of his time working in remote parts of the world. We also didn’t mind his direct view of world affairs. We would definitely return if in the Daintree area again."

"Lovely inn in a stunning location. Wake up in the morning to the sounds of the rainforest and a cassowary passing outside your window. Then have a delicious breakfast of tropical fruits before starting your day. The Golden Orchid is spacious and clean, with its own bathroom and full kitchen and everything you could possibly need. The hosts Matt, Marina, and Agustin were so kind and welcoming and took fantastic care of us. Highly recommend a stay here!"

"Absolutely beautiful, ( for our 30th anniversary ) The spotless Big Bungalow was equipped with everything you could possibly need, 3 bedrooms, full kitchen, ceiling fans in every room, no need for AC, fresh ocean breeze through the screened windows, loved the open bathroom and the laundry facilities, .... but the best part were the owners, Jodie and Dean are probably the most delightful hosts we've met, friendly and professional, we would certainly like to come back. Thanks again for making our stay memorable. R & M."
