Since it is an apartment, you shouldn't expect high service. I stayed for 4 days and they provided plenty of towels. It is a place I would consider staying at again."

"The family-run Hotel Santer is an absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to experience winter sports activities, enjoyment and wellness at the highest level. Nordic ski arena with great cross-country ski runs on the doorstep, three menus to choose from in the evening - one of which is always vegan or vegetarian, warm hosts and attentive and friendly service. We would like to thank the Santer family, the restaurant manager Dennis and his team, especially Noemi and Giada. We felt welcome from the start and nothing was left to be desired. We also really liked the fact that we could flexibly swap individual courses of the menu at dinner. The quality of the food is very good and imaginative - South Tyrolean cuisine with a Mediterranean influence. Each menu includes a salad and dessert buffet. Breakfast is served until 11 a.m. - which was perfect for us. The breakfast buffet was still well stocked at 10 a.m. Fresh egg dishes come from the kitchen on request. We squeezed our own juice from apples, carrots and oranges every morning. You can tell from the breakfast selection that the hotel is run by a family of athletes. We would also like to mention that it is easy to reach by train. The train station is only 200m away and the hotel price includes the Südtirol Mobilcard with free use of public transport in South Tyrol. Next time we will travel by train as we did not use the car. The 3000sqm wellness area with panoramic sauna and many other saunas, two outdoor pools with a view of the Nordic ski arena and plenty of rest areas is a dream. The infusion with Maurizio is an experience. There are also a variety of spa treatments that are best booked before arrival as the offer is very well booked. I had a 50-minute relaxing massage, which I can highly recommend. Thanks to Jürgen Santer, who is always present and approachable. And Godelieve Santer for the always warm and personal greeting every evening. We will definitely come back."

"Three adults in a terrible triple room, paying the same per-person rate as a double room. No refrigerator in the room, small curtains filtering light, and a small window overlooking the railway line, causing train noise. Tap water was available for dinner at €2 per jug."

Hotel Tschurtschenthaler ★★★

"We were supposed to participate in the Dobbiaco winter night run, and stay at the Hotel Tschurtschenthaler, which turned our joy into a complete disaster. No race, no stay, lots of bitterness and fear. From the moment of our arrival around midday, we felt a total lack of courtesy and availability on the part of the manager, making it immediately clear that we would not be welcome, who informed us that (despite our booking made a few months before our stay) decided to assign our room to other customers, so he moved us to Villa Bassa, about 2 km from the property, in an apartment (without mentioning costs and services included/excluded and without taking into account the difficulty of having to use the car every time to get to the centre). We oppose it, and this is the genesis of the disaster. He sends us away in a bad way, making us return later, at check-in time. From that moment on, the manager's attitude became extremely rude, not at all professional and at times even very violent, but despite this she assigned us the room. As soon as we took possession of the room, we realized that our daughter's bed had not yet been made up. We immediately brought this to the attention of the manager who entered the room like a fury with the sheets and pillows and started to rant and scream, scaring my wife and my daughter, who was pushed by the manager who, not stopping screaming even in German, had to prepare the bed. At this point, given the level of degeneration I had reached, I pointed out to the manager that I no longer intended to stay where I was anything but welcome and that I was starting to get scared, but she always threatened me by shouting to make me pay for the room if we were gone. I was forced to call the Carabinieri who immediately intervened and managed to mediate the difficult situation and therefore the manager and the owner (the manager's mother) let us go without having to pay for an unused service. Not only was our holiday ruined by the improbably bad service and the out-of-bounds attitude of the facility manager, but we also suffered biological damage due to the stress and frustration caused by this surreal experience, and we don't rule it out to take legal action against the facility. Final notes: the structure is dated but centrally located, which is the reason for our choice. The room seemed recently renovated and equipped with the minimum necessary comforts, albeit with some defects (dirty bathroom, missing towels and used toilet paper). Overall just enough."
