"Hotel Neuhaus is somewhat basic in its furnishings but everything is thoughtfully planned and laid out. For example, there is a chair on the landing between floors. In the lobby, tea and coffe are provided 24 hours a day. There is a rooftop also available where smoking is allowed. I found staff friendly. It is in a residential neighborhood, a 5-10 minute walk from many restaurants and shops on Kaiserstrasse. It is also less than 5 minutes' walk from Dortmund's Orthodox synagogue. The hotel desk is not staffed at night, and you are sent a code for initial entry if you arrive after a certain time, it appears (but check before arriving)."

"I was nicely surprised when the guys at the desk responded positively on my requests. Usually for what I asked other hotels try to change you. Free coffee from bean to cup machines. Two supermarkets nearby. Just walk on the side street - it takes you right to them than walking on the main street. The only negative (which has nothing to do with the hotel and the service whatsoever) during my stay was that most of the rooms were occupied by young sport players, who were smoking in the rooms and activated the fire alarm at 04:30 in the morning. The alarm is so loud, so full hotel was woken up and everyone was walking down the stairs to get out. Only the firefighters were walking up on the stairs. All in all, I do recommend"

"Very rude members of staff who were unhelpful (especially Dirk Kurt who was on night shift) who was extremely rude!!! We were too early for check in so we wanted to leave our cases and come back but we were refused as the hotel don’t facilitate for this?? And don’t get me started on the check in process, rubbish!!!"

"Excellent located if you want to visit University / Technologiepark. Well equipped room. Wall behind bed very dusty, dirty wall in bathroom. Early breakfeast from 6:30 available, but no coffee since staff forgot cleaning coffee machine....."

L'Arrivée Hotel & Spa
"We used this hotel as a stopover travelling from the Eurotunnel at Calais and onwards to Bavaria. This was our first time here although we have been making this journey over the last 25 years. Our usual stopover just outside Dortmund was unavailabe due to the Main road being closed for the weekend. So, we found L' Arrivee on TA and decided to book a room. And we were glad we did. This is a fine hotel with quiet comfortable bedrooms. Also we had a lovely dinner in the restaurant here and a good breakfast before we departed the next morning. Also I am a car nut and like to take care of my car. And L'Arrivee has a lot of safe, secure parking. So I think we might have just have discovered our new regular stopover on our way from the Eurotunnel terminal and onwards into Deutschland. "
