"Location, location, location was great! In town, off main road , convenient parking and plenty of place & restaurants to explore. The inn was homey and our room, ‘ Sugar loaf’ was very clean and comfortable. The large bathroom had lots of character with a claw tub / shower combo. However, for anyone with mobility or balance issues this room is not for you. I would suggest one downstairs with separate shower because the upstairs tub was a bit slippery and difficult to navigate. Otherwise, we had a lovely time and the inn keepers were very hospitable and responsive either in person or text. We were aware of the limited breakfast option (fresh croissants & coffee) but it was fine since there are lots of restaurants including a diner in town and the Culinary Institute is a 15 minute drive for a fun lunch. All in all this inn was nice to come back to after a long day exploring the region. .."

"Troutbeck is a wonderful place for a relaxing and peaceful retreat from the pressures of everyday life. The property has a powerful and important role in creating equal rights in this country. There are different styles of rooms depending on your needs. We stayed for 3 nights in the Benton Cottage that has 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, and a living room. Staff were very welcoming and supportive. Food is delicious. The activities are comprehensive: swimming, massage services, tennis, horseback riding, walking trails, and lovely bar room. The only caution is that nightlife is quiet in the country : no clubs, no raves, no concerts, etc."
