"Beautiful and very neat hotel with many extras. We have stayed in many hotels over the years, but Van de Valk in Enschede is one of the most beautiful and luxurious rooms/apartments in which we have slept. We received a penthouse as a gift for 1 night. With sauna and very luxurious bathroom. Living room with sofa and dining area with 8 chairs. 2 large flat screens, 1 in the living room and 1 in the bedroom. Room service is available. The kitchen in the penthouse is fully equipped. Large balcony around the entire penthouse with a view over a large part of Enschede. Breakfast is fantastic too. Lots of choice for everyone. Before this, a deposit of 200 euros must be paid when booking a penthouse. This is understandable and we think it is due to the bad experiences of the hotel. When checking out of the hotel, you are requested to take a seat to check the penthouse for damage or destruction. Here one can at least give the guest a cup of coffee or something similar. to offer. We didn't like this, isn't this covered by withholding the deposit? Furthermore, a wonderful experience richer to spend the night in luxury."

"We have been coming to the Holterhof for years. Now for the first time for a weekend. Because of 1 particular employee, we did not really like it and we would not do this again. I believe the woman is called Xio, a somewhat smaller blond older lady. She walks around as if she is the queen and is not at all hospitable to the guests. I have heard several people about it and have had several experiences with her in recent years that I did not experience as pleasant. This weekend I heard her gossiping about other guests. We were woken up 40 minutes before check-out time by banging on the door and the message that we should not oversleep. We felt very embarrassed by this. Furthermore, the room is small and cozy. The bathroom is a bit dated, but clean. I found breakfast a bit disappointing compared to the tasty and good selection on the menu itself. The food in the wellness itself is very good! The saunas are cozy and the infusions are always well taken care of."

"Stayed her for 5 nights, there was damp on the walls curtains were filthy and the fridge sounded like an engine in the room, toilet and shower were spotless to be fair but having the shower door actually in your bedroom seems a little strange.. I had two rooms one for myself and my husband and the other for my daughter.The accommodation is fine for students but definitely not Hotel quality! And it cost 1.200 Euro for 5 nights"

"For a hotel pool this one is spatious and light, partly due to four daylight domes in the ceiling. Breakfast was okay, but the machine dispensed 'fruit juice' is terrible. Ample space in the breakfast/dining area and ample places to sit and relax. The room had modern floors with a wood decor. Bathroom fixtures a bit dated. Bed was okay, two separate single box springs with a two person topper. Staff was friendly. Coffee/tea maker in the room with some coffee and tea cups. But, extra cups can be bought at the reception for 60 cents. Central area carpeted and a bit dated. All in all a reasonable stay, not great but also not bad."
