"A simple but good hotel to stay. We visited Honfleur, Deauville and Pays d'Auge. Good cooking for dinner. It was very convenient for us. A swimming pool would allow to relax (we did not use it this time)."

"Appalling! ‼️‼️‼️ Beware of theft at the Hotel Le Grand Cerf in Lyons-la-Forêt. Over the weekend of August 15th, my valuable bag was stolen from my room without any sign of forced entry; it was locked. No manager during peak season—he's on vacation! No one to secure the hotel. A NIGHTMARE. We have filed a complaint with the Gendarmerie; an investigation is underway. Please spread the word! ‼️‼️‼️"

Belle Isle Sur Risle

"We were so looking forward to a 3 night stay at the mansion, including breakfast. The area was lovely and the surrounding so peaceful and so very French, which we loved. We had a room on the 4th floor which being over 21 was not an easy task carrying all our luggage ( no lift of course) The staff were very friendly and helpful. On a disappointing note , the room was very tired , it had staples holding some of the wall Paper up , the fan was broken and was taped together, the window was cracked in the bathroom and panels hanging off the bath, and generally could do with being looked after , which was a shame. Breakfast was fine, did not eat at the hotel , but the town was lovely and so were many surrounding villages . We enjoyed it but it could do with a little TLC. "

"Well this is a special place hidden away off the main road set in its own grounds,its a lovely place to just relax or you can walk into town and explore. We stayed two nights and loved it comfy beds great rooms and staff ,it was Josephine's house given to her by napoleon ."

"We stayed here one night on our way from Dordogne to Calais. It’s a beautiful place, we had a nice but small bedroom and everything was nice and clean. The grounds are spacious with sparse planting around the castle. Dinner was delicious and very reasonably priced. Nice wine as well. The service was OK. Breakfast was OK, but no one there to let us know where to get coffee and find the different dishes. We had to find cutlery to serve us selves with. So plus for the food, minus for the service."
