"The hotel’s greatest strength is its location: peaceful, intimate and beautifully close to nature. The buildings have been placed into the landscape in a stylish and respectful way, and the whole area feels compact, minimalistic and quiet. During our three-day stay, we only encountered a handful of other guests, which made the experience feel very private. The room was clean, dark and minimalist. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spacious for the room size, and the lack of a TV was actually a positive. The highlight was the postcard-like sea view through the full-wall windows. Enjoying morning coffee from the in-room coffee machine while watching boats pass by was nice. The overall design is strong, with clear attention to lighting, building placement and the surrounding nature. However, the public areas are limited, the restaurant is small and the terrace compact. This creates an intimate atmosphere, but also means that service and execution need to be very polished for the luxury positioning and price level. Breakfast was not especially wide in selection — porridge, eggs, bread and fruit — but the quality was excellent and fitted well with the hotel’s pared-back, down-to-earth spirit. The porridge was particularly good. That said, it would be nicer if breakfast could be attended more freely without having to reserve an exact time slot. Service was friendly, but not quite at the level I would expect from a hotel at this price point. Check-in was pleasant, but the reception felt somewhat stressed despite there being hardly any other guests around. Some of the younger staff seemed more reactive than proactive. Small touches, such as showing guests to their breakfast table and asking whether they would like a specialty coffee or tea, would elevate the experience. Some pricing details left a negative impression. Electric car charging cost EUR 30 regardless of the amount charged, which felt unreasonable. A private sauna slot was EUR 70 for 50 minutes, with the jacuzzi an additional EUR 100. Dinner water was charged separately at EUR 3, which feels unusual in Finland. A bathrobe had to be requested separately, and despite asking for one, it was never delivered. On the positive side, the complimentary morning sauna and bicycles were nice touches. Suggestions for improvement: Allow more flexible breakfast times. Make the service more proactive, especially at breakfast and in the restaurant. Improve staff attention to detail if the aim is an international luxury standard. Place bathrobes in the rooms by default, or ensure they are delivered when requested. Price electric car charging based on actual consumption. Include water as part of the restaurant experience. Add a small outdoor chair or seating area by each room entrance. Overall, Bärö offers a beautiful, peaceful and nature-close archipelago experience. The real luxury is the location, silence and view. By international standards, however, the service, extra pricing, amenities and at"

The Torby ★★★
"The location is an old building fully renovated in pure Finnish design. The style is minimal yet very warming. Rooms are not big but very comfortable. Good breakfast in a side building, also fully renovated. Very nice surprise in the small Fiskars town."

"Room is beautiful, good bed and shower. View to valley and Forrest meant view to restaurant building. Very disappointed. Coffee machine in the room but only possible to make coffee once. Weird thing to save on coffee capsules. I see people have given feedback about this before too, but no changes have been made. Feels like they don't really care. Easiest thing to fix. Restaurant never replied to my email and website was not updated, only finding it out on arrival that no lunch would be served. Breakfast was very limited. Luckily only booked one night, we left early in the morning. It is not what the adverts say."

Hotel Fjalar ★★★
"I had a very warm welcome on arrival. Room was spacious and newly renovated. Room had a balcony with a view over the backyard garden. Balcony had a table and two chairs. Room also had a 2 person sofa which is really nice to have in a hotel room, a place to sit and not only to sleep in. Also couple of small chairs and a desk. There was no iron in the room which I would have wanted to do but I did not ask if it would have been possible to borrow one. There was a small pool and sauna but I did not use them. Cozy sitting area next to the pool. Breakfast had everything I normally eat at a hotel. Eggs were really good. There was no option to eat lunch or dinner at the hotel but if you come by car, moving around is easy. Free parking just in front of the hotel. Area was very quiet so I had a good nights sleep."
