Quintessa Hotel Chiba Funabashi ★★★

📍 2 Chome-5-18 Minatocho, Funabashi

"Place was overall good - a bit small but most Tokyo hotels are smaller.. 10-15 min walk to the station though. The room smelled a bit like mildew and it did seem like an older hotel. But the bed was comfortable and the service waa great."

Funabashi Grand Sauna and Capsule Hotel ★★

📍 Honcho, 4 Chome−5−27 百万弗ビル 2F, Funabashi

"The room was a bit small, and it got extremely hot at night. The curtains didn't let in any heat. You have to go barefoot inside, and going up and down the stairs hurt my feet a bit. The public bathhouse was nice. It had sauna rooms and bathtubs."

Hotel Trend Funabashi

Hotel Trend Funabashi ★★

📍 2 Chome-7-10 Honcho, Funabashi

"There's a 7-Eleven right in front of the hotel, and a Lawson and a FamilyMart are within walking distance. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station, but if you head towards the station, you can find pretty much anything, so it was comfortable for a solo traveler. The room was small, but it was just the right size for one person. I only really needed a place to sleep, so it was perfect."

Hotel Ichimatsu
8.9 (45 reviews)

Hotel Ichimatsu ★★

📍 3 Chome-1-3 Miyamoto, Funabashi

"The hotel owners were all very kind and gentle. There were staff at the front desk 24/7, and you had to leave your key at the front desk when you left and retrieve it when you returned. It was a very good experience."

Leo Yu Capsule Hotel Funabashi

"💤 **Sleeping Experience:** I thought I'd feel like I was crammed in a can of sardines, but I was slapped down in the cabin the second I laid down! The curved ceiling design wasn't oppressive at all, and the ventilation system was super quiet, with air circulation even more comfortable than my air conditioner! The pillows were surprisingly memory foam, with both soft and firm options! The soundproofing was much better than I expected, and I could sleep through the night with or without earplugs—a delight for those with social anxiety. 🛁 **Bathroom Surprises:** I was blown away by the "space capsule shower"! The water temperature was instant and consistent, and the horse oil shampoo kept my hair frizz-free! The dressing room provided free makeup remover pads and scrunchies—so girl-friendly! There was even a makeup mirror with an LED light hidden in the mirror cabinet, so I didn't have to do my makeup in the dark. I was so touched! 👥 **Socially Friendly Space:** I thought capsule hotels were just for sleeping, but I ended up meeting so many great travelers in the "shared book bar"! Work quietly during the day with high-speed WiFi (tested, it easily uploads large files), and enjoy board games with fellow backpackers from around the world at night. A microwave is available for rent in the kitchen, so you can enjoy a late-night bowl of instant noodles while gazing out at the city skyline – instantly embodying the same lonely romance you'd find in Japanese dramas!"

"It was smaller than I expected, but it was very clean and comfortable, with everything you could want. While it's a double room, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're very close."

JR-EAST HOTEL METS FUNABASHI ★★★
"I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Check-in is done using a machine, which can be a bit challenging at first. You need to show your passport, and the guest name must match the booking. Once you get through that, the process is actually very quick. The hotel provides complete amenities. Everything is available, so you don’t really need to bring your own skincare or toiletries. Pajamas are also provided, which is very convenient. The room size is good for two people. Not small, not cramped. Everything feels compact and well organized. The bathroom has a bathtub, and the hair dryer works well. There is a washing machine on the 7th floor, which is very helpful, especially if you’re staying longer or traveling with family. The location is very convenient. If you’re traveling with kids, this place is very family friendly and easy to move around without feeling tired. JR and subway access are right there, you just go down to the first floor. The only downside is the cost to Tokyo Station, where a round trip for adults can be around ¥423–569 on JR. There are plenty of food options nearby, from restaurants to Daiso, Donki, malls, and even AEON. Mitsui Outlet Park is also easy to reach, about 20 minutes by JR with a fare of only ¥230. View from room beautiful. You can see sunrise and also sunset. We stayed at 10th floor on the right side. Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel and would happily stay here again.i"

Funabashi Grand Sauna and Capsule Hotel ★★
"The Showa-style capsule hotel with a history of more than 30 years is easy to find next to Funabashi Station. The clerk does not speak English, so communicate in Japanese or with translation software. There are Chinese and English precautions at the front desk, which the clerk will give. Large luggage can be stored in the stairwell and can be taken at any time. The storage compartment space is okay, the sleeping compartment space is relatively small, and it is really old. The radio no longer works, and the big-butt TV can watch ten channels. The lighting can be adjusted, but the disadvantage is that there is only one charging socket. The bathroom is old but clean, and you can't take a bath from 2 to 4 am every day. At night, there is no place to stay in the public rest area, only in the sleeping compartment. Disposable and public supplies are very complete and sufficient. You have to leave the sleeping compartment at 10 am every day and can stay until 12 am. It doesn't matter if you stay in the same room. I haven't eaten in the restaurant, so I won't comment. The price is indeed an advantage. If you want to experience an old-fashioned capsule hotel, you can consider it. I am still willing to try a capsule hotel with higher specifications."
