"We used the travellers inn as we wanted to see the grisdale tarn and we needed to a room to stay after the sight. They allowed us to store our luggage at the inn as our check in was at 3pm. The rooms were clean and it overlooked a farm area with lots of sheep. The room had an aesthetic look and there was tea satchets we could have as well. The staff were kind and wonderful. The rooms had the britain charm you see in old english movies. If you love sheeps, kind people, good food and 80's british aesthetics- then this place is just for you. We loved our stay here."

"I booked a shared room at the YHA for one night based on a last-minute decision to head out into the Lake District whilst the weather was nice for 2 consecutive days (which doesn't happen too much in Winter for Cumbria.) Fortunately I managed to get myself a bed and the whole overnight stay was comfortable, at affordable pricing, with friendly staff and all services explained to a first-time rookie. As i'm bagging Wainwrights i'll definitely be considering the Butharlyp Howe YHA again as accommodation next time i'm in the area."

"Absolutely love it here. It’s such a good location for loads of walks, swims or just relaxing. The staff are friendly. It’s clean. There’s lots of facilities. They’re obviously improving things too with more storage for self catering. We stayed a night camping and a night in the dorm room. Ideal location for a walk up to easedale tarn or into abide via rydal. Of course will be back again very soon."

"I stayed here with my sister while walking the Coast to Coast Path. We let ourselves in with a code and never saw a soul. Our room was clean but very small for two people. The bathroom was nearly as big as the room. Walkers like to get on the trail early so it was unfortunate that breakfast didn't start until 8 especially since all the walkers showed up at 7:55 and only one hardworking woman was on hand to manage the dining room. She performed admirably. With so many places to stay in Grasmere, I would like elsewhere especially if you are a hiker. There are no boot drying options."
