"The rooms were very nice and clean. There's a very large parking lot with plenty of spaces, and parking is free. It's very convenient for people with cars. There's a P+R train station about 3 kilometers from the hotel, making it easy to take the train to Amsterdam. Parking is also free, which is fantastic! Staying here and taking the train to Amsterdam is an excellent choice."

"Our family had a wonderful 4-day, 3-night stay at Hotel Lion d'Or in Haarlem! The hotel’s location is unbeatable—just steps from the train station (70m or less) and a short walk to the charming city center. It made exploring both Haarlem and Amsterdam incredibly convenient. Our room was spacious enough for 3 people (2 adults and 1 child), clean, and thoughtfully designed, offering a perfect balance of comfort and modern amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of sightseeing. Staying in a corner room, we even woke up to the delightful sound of birds singing in the early morning—a lovely touch! The breakfast was excellent, with a nice variety of fresh and tasty options to start the day. Also, don’t miss visiting Café De Paris in Haarlem, near Hotel Lion d'Or. The food there was fantastic and definitely worth trying! What truly set this hotel apart was the staff. Every team member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and eager to assist. Their helpful local recommendations enriched our trip and made it even more memorable. Overall, I highly recommend Hotel Lion d'Or to anyone visiting Haarlem. "I must admit, The Ambassador hotel surprised me. The restaurant and bar are top class! The barman can mix any cocktail you want as he is very experienced and well focused on the customers. The bedrooms are reasonable and comfortable.  I would highly recommend this hotel as it’s close to town and all the shops and restaurants."

"What a cool hotel. It has a great vibe on entering, and a plush and quirky interior. Our room was amazing, it was huge and comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely bath, rain shower and stayed in from the rain. Gezellig. Great location between de station and de centrum. Dankje wel!"

"The hotel has a luxurious appearance, the employees are very friendly and despite the fact that we arrived an hour earlier, a room was already available. The room and bathroom were neat and clean. The mattresses and pillows were firm, just the way I like them. In addition, there were plenty of free parking spaces. The bus stop for the bus to the center is very close, ideal! The service in the hotel bar could be better. There was no regard for the guests who came in, they were not welcomed and you had to beckon a waiter yourself to get a drink. In addition, we had to wait quite a long time for our drink. Ambiance is fine."

"Hotel is great value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel is 15mins walk from the station or 1 stop on the bus. Location is great for exploring Haarlem. Room was spacious and very clean. You don’t get any amenities provided but that is standard for European hotels at this price range. Would be happy to return."

"Great location, quiet surrounding. The executive suite comes with a mini bar with drinks and snacks, as well as Heineken beer and wine. Also, the restaurant at the hotel is beautiful! Also delicious! We had dinner twice in a row and both were delicious and the service was very friendly. There is a park opposite the hotel, which is suitable for children to play."
