Parc-Le-Breos House ★★★★

"We stayed here for our 30-year anniversary and it was absolutely superb from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the staff were excellent: welcoming, friendly, attentive and genuinely interested. Even the younger members of the team had clearly been well trained in how to speak to guests properly — smiling, engaged and helpful, which is not always a given these days. The hotel is family-run and has been in the same family for many generations, and it really shows. There is a sense of pride, care and continuity about the place that you simply don’t get in more anonymous hotels. It has a beautiful atmosphere: old-fashioned grandeur without being stuffy or pretentious. The views are stunning, and the whole place felt quiet, peaceful and tranquil. The restaurant was excellent. One thing I really appreciated was that it wasn’t echoey or boomy like so many modern dining rooms — you could actually hear each other at the table. Dinner was exquisite and beyond reproach; the chef clearly knows their stuff. Breakfast was fabulous too. Our room was magnificent! It was spacious, comfortable and extremely well presented. Everything about the stay felt calm, special and properly cared for. Given the quality of the setting, service, food and room, we also felt it represented truly excellent value. The only thing I can complain about is that we couldn’t stay longer. We will 100% be going back for our 31st anniversary. Thank you to the whole team for making it such a memorable stay."
