"We did the Shimanami Kaido and spent one night here before turning around and returning to Onomichi the next day. They allow bikes to be kept in the room and it was more spacious than expected. We comfortably fit 3 bikes. The building is a little on the older side, but the customer service was great. Would gladly stay again."

"The hotel has a great atmosphere, comfortable rooms, and the staff are very fluent in multiple languages, including providing room instructions in several languages – a thoughtful touch. Downstairs, there's a welcome bar table with a wide selection of drinks (including alcoholic beverages) and a microwave for light meals. It's a great place for groups to chat and enjoy drinks, fostering a pleasant and collaborative experience. The onsen (hot spring bath) is also very clean and comfortable, though a bit small. It might feel cramped with a large group, but the room TV displays the number of people allowed in the onsen, allowing you to schedule usage. Washing and drying facilities are provided, which are easy to use and convenient, perfect for washing clothes immediately after cycling."

"This is a good old Japanese inn. It was well maintained and cleaned, so I had a very comfortable stay. Above all, the food was lavish and everything was carefully prepared and delicious. The hot spring water was highly alkaline, and although it wasn't that large, it was a comfortable space with the river and greenery stretching out before you. Despite being crowded with tourists and foreigners everywhere we went, I was able to spend my time there in peace. Our taxi driver told us that the number of visitors to Donkawa Onsen is declining, but it's a place I hope will continue forever."
