We managed to get it changed to a non-smoking room at the hotel, but it felt like we'd been tricked. Later, when I checked the confirmation email from Trip, it also showed a smoking double room. It was our mistake not to check the confirmation email, but we have no idea how this change occurred. In the future, I've learned that it's important to carefully review confirmation emails and also confirm with the hotel to avoid mistakes. I've heard a lot about problems with hotel booking sites lately, and this was a good lesson learned. This was our second time staying at this hotel, but we booked through a different booking site."
