"There was a serious ant problem in the room where I stayed. I also spotted bugs in the bathroom twice. Besides that, the room was very dark. It had a bunk bed setup, and the bed wasn't very comfortable. Finally, I had no interaction with the staff other than at check-in and check-out."

"I've never felt the need to leave a TripAdvisor review, but the Liostasi Hotel compelled me to make an exception. My friend and I, both 25-year-old guys from Toronto, were staying at a hotel two blocks away when we decided to dine at Grandma's restaurant (the restaurant in the Liostasi). At dinner, we were captivated by the impeccable service, outstanding food (the best meal we had in Greece—I highly recommend the beef cheek), and the beautiful property. Impressed, we asked the concierge for a tour of the hotel and the available rooms after our meal. The concierge graciously showed us three different suites, and we decided on the Junior Suite with linen sheets (you can select your sheets, which is a nice touch). We were so enamored with the Liostasi that we walked back to our old hotel and informed them we were checking out early. Despite having to pay for an additional two nights at our previous hotel, we didn’t care—we wanted to be at the Liostasi. The next morning, when we returned for check-in, the Liostasi staff surprised us with a discounted rate and a complimentary upgrade to a Panoramic Suite. The suite was stunning. The service continued to impress throughout our stay. At breakfast, the waiters memorized our orders, so when we arrived the next day, they recognized us and asked if we wanted our "usual," which we did. The breakfast spread was impressive, offering both a buffet that featured tons of ready to eat items, with the option to also order a variety of gourmet à la carte and hot items from the chef, all complimentary, and tasty. We spent one of our days lounging by the meticulously maintained pool. The staff was exceptionally attentive, immediately tidying and restoring sunbeds to pristine condition as soon as guests left. On the morning of our departure, unbeknownst to us, the concierge arranged for a private shuttle to take us directly from the hotel to the ferry. Our driver arrived in a brand-new Mercedes SUV. We hadn’t requested this service, nor did we know it existed, but the concierge at the hotel coordinated it—and covered the cost too. The facilities and the rooms were exceptional, but the staff and service were what truly set this place apart. They were the most attentive, accommodating, friendly, and thoughtful hotel staff I've ever encountered; they could teach a masterclass. When I share stories of my travels throughout Europe, the Liostasi Hotel in Ios is always at the top of the list, thanks to the staff who made our stay so special. I’ll remember this hotel for a long time and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be treated like a VIP."

"Hotel didnt want to cancel the booking when ferry was cancelled and I cant get on island. Because of this I had to lay twice for 2 ferries and finally reached the island. Location is comfortable. Near ferry station, supermarket, bus station and several bars and cafes"

"I recently stayed at Yialos Ios Hotel and had a mixed experience. The initial room was disappointing (traditional economy). It was dark, humid, with yellowed pillows, a barely functioning hair dryer, and the bodywash dispenser was empty. The door would lock with difficulty, and my window faced a junk pile. Insects were coming in from under and around the door frame, making it impossible to sleep for two nights (I was afraid that insects were going crawl onto the bed). The first night I arrived back to the hotel after an evening out, I found at least 10 insects crawling around the floor. I used whatever I could find to block the space under the door, but the second night I realized that the insects were coming through the side of the door frame. When I reported this, the front desk dismissed my concerns, assuring me the insects wouldn’t harm me. I paid for an upgraded room, and while the new room was much better, it still had issues like the bathroom bin trash which was left from previous visitors. The room wasn’t ready at the discussed time, which was frustrating as I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my valuables at the front desk (these were work related devices which provide MFA and either had to be locked in a safe or kept on me). The breakfast offerings were underwhelming (I will admit to being picky with food). A positive aspect was the presence of a night guard who helped me feel safe. Whenever I would arrive in the evening, he would notice that I was on the property, which led me to believe that he was really paying attention of who was coming and going. Once I changed rooms, my stay improved. The pool area is amazing, and having a restaurant on-site was very convenient. I do not suggest staying in the traditional or economy rooms which are located in the old building. If you stay at Yialos Ios Hotel, book a room in the newer buildings, these are listed as superior and deluxe rooms."

"We stayed in a Panoramic Suite Private Pool and it exceeded every expectation. The room itself was spectacular, double aspect, with incredible views across Mylopotas bay. Room 811 felt extremely private, tucked away with no sense of being overlooked. Hanging over the edge of the infinity pool with a glass of wine, absorbing the view was the best way to spend the afternoons. We think this was probably the best hotel room and location to stay on the island. We loved the room. A stunning breakfast was brought to the room every day and was a wonderful way to start the morning. Mylopotas beach itself is beautiful, a long stretch of soft sand and clear water, and an easy stroll down from the suite whenever you fancy a change of scene. The location is excellent too, some lovely restaurants nearby, and being at the opposite end of the bay to the Far Out club means you're barely aware of the club goers."

"Very close to the port which made it easy getting on and off the ferry. Jessica in reception was very friendly and helpful. It was a decent up hill walk to the centre but the bus was €2 and runs every 15 minutes to both Chora and Mylopotas. The hotel rooms were basic but very clean and the rooms have everything you could want."
