"A few good things to mention is that ithe rooms had two double beds which meant there was ample space for a family to stay. The room and bathroom was fairly clean except for cobwebs all over the upper walls and ceiling. There was hote water in our room but one of my friends who stayed in a neighboring room did not have a water heater so it would be wise to check before staying. It's in a fairly good location from the town and there is parking in the hotel grounds for your vehicle. There was some loud music played till a bit late. Overall, an average stay but may try a new place next time we visit Jaffna."

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Jaffna Heritage Hotel and this is our second visit to JHH Nallur! The heritage-style architecture and antiques give it a wonderfully unique personality – preserving a beautiful traditional, colonial charm while offering excellent modern comforts. Our room was spacious, perfectly clean, comfortable beds and featured beautiful local artwork. The rooms have smooth air conditioning and Wi-Fi! Stepping out onto the verandah, the swaying coconut palms, and neem trees greet you besides the melodious songbirds native to Nallur. The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk from the iconic Nallur Kandaswamy Temple, which is a plus factor for us who want to participate in the Annual Nallur Festival prayers. One important thing for travellers to know is that it is an exclusively vegetarian and alcohol-free property, which perfectly fits the spiritual vibe of the area. The authentic Jaffna-style vegetarian breakfast buffet was a massive highlight of our mornings – the breakfast dishes were excellent and rotated daily. The local vegetarian cuisine served for lunch and dinner – when requested – is incredibly delicious and flavourful especially the pittu, potato poriyal and sambal! What sets this place apart is the amazing service from the manager and his team, who went out of their way to make you feel right at home. Will definitely return! Jeya & Siva (Malaysia)."

"We had a lovely two night stay at this beautiful hotel. We were welcomed with herbal drinks and a smile from all staff. Our room was massive - a suite really with two floors and a balcony. The food in the buffet restaurant was really good and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant manager even made my husband a special ginger tea as he had a cold. We enjoyed a crab curry cooking demonstration with the chef which was good fun. If I had to pick fault at all the pool area is quite small and on our first day we couldn’t sit there. The seating area outside the bar needs to be given a bit of attention to make this a more attractive place to sit for drinks or find somewhere in the lovely garden to make a seating area. European guests want to sit outside! That said the bar staff were good so a minor point."

"Our stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Right from the moment we entered the room, we were hit with a strong, unpleasant smell. The bathrooms were not clean, and there were mosquitoes everywhere, making it hard to relax. There was no lift available, which was highly inconvenient, especially since our group of three families was assigned rooms on different floors. This made coordination very difficult. The worst part, however, was the customer service. The reception staff were extremely rude and unhelpful — probably the worst we’ve encountered in any hotel. Their attitude was unpleasant and unprofessional, which completely ruined the experience for us. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable or welcoming stay."

Very good location (approx. 1.2 km from the center), great breakfast and for dinner the food was ordered from a restaurant with a varied menu. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. Also worth mentioning is the small but very clean and tasteful pool with a small terrace. We will definitely stay there again if we go to Jaffna again. Petra and Frank"

"The location is excellent as its walking distance to the train station, bus stand and shops. The atmosphere is very budget type. Considering its pricing its definitely a budget hotel and should be reviewed as such too. For a budget hotel they gave us a very clean room and a clean bathroom. The fittings are a bit old. It had hot water but never used it because of the high temperatures in Jaffna. I think its value for what they offer. Do not book with breakfast because you are at their mercy at what is provided. I thought the breakfast was below par. Service and the staff are excellent. Nice, friendly, and accommodating. The pictures are from a long time back. The place looked a bit run down. We did not mind as we spent most of the time sight seeing and only came to sleep. For that purpose this was great."

We like to mention the names of two staff members who helped us at various times/ stages - Kirushana helped us with booking of our room and Dilakshi during our stay in Thinnai.
