"Headfort Arms is a perfect base for a short break or for exploring the local historic areas. Rooms are big and spacious, food is excellent, staff very friendly and all at a very reasonable price."

"Cabra castle was amazing. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was of a high quality. Would definitely recommend a stay here"

"Amazing hotel with enough staff team to support you when you need them. The breakfast was great. The hotel could do better with more amenities within the resort."

"Good service"

"On a positive note the food was very good, however the kitchen is completely let down by the service front of house. Really disappointed to experience this and with the expense of eating out at its current rate. So much work could be done at little or no cost to the hotel to train staff. I asked (with genuine reason) for a table in a little more private area and was given the most public table available. Any food or drink I ordered was given to my companion. I don't think I've ever experienced that anywhere before. There was clear priority given to a group of people - even before they arrived. So their orders were started before my table despite our earlier arrival. Several things asked for didn't arrive. No common sense from waiting staff, and no courtesy whatsoever. The group were passing through.... we are local and I personally would not be returning for this type of service. In a very unusual occurrence the same day, I found myself in another well-known establishment by Lough Ennell with my family and was bowled over by the amazing service despite how absolutely busy they were. It really doesn't take much to serve with a smile and engage with the guests. And it earns tips too of course."

"Can"t thank Kathleen and Emmet enough. We were there for a wedding at the castle and had a car problem. Kathleen drove us up to the wedding and Emmet fixed our car. Without their kindness we would have been stuck. Very kind and welcoming place to stay. We had room 4 with the bathroom across the hall which was actually perfect as the bathroom is huge so lots of space to get ready as we were 3 girls."

"The hotel is a little old fashioned, but offers good value for money. We booked a double bed, but were given a twin room for our anniversary, which was a little odd."

"Beautiful hotel. Only 2 floors which is great. Peaceful and spacious lounge and seating areas. Noone sitting on top of each other. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Rooms very quiet and the food was excellent. Lovely gardens well kept"
