"I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at this place. After arriving and seeing the actual condition of the place, I was very shocked. The property was not clean as shown in the pictures, and the atmosphere felt uncomfortable and somewhat creepy. It was completely different from what was advertised online. Because of this, I decided to cancel my stay immediately. In addition, the elderly man at the reception was very rude and unprofessional. His attitude was unacceptable and made the situation even worse. I hope you take this complaint seriously and improve both the cleanliness and customer service standards to avoid misleading and disappointing future guests."

"This place is divine. Very small (I think only 8 rooms) and no it’s not on the waterside (but that’s a good thing). This place is about a 15 min walk to the crab market, 10 min to the national park, 10 min walk to sailing club … note there is no “town” as such so don’t look for being “in town”. For westerners there is no 711 or shopping street. It’s just one big food stalls and hammocks. But Tara lodge is unique. Beautiful pool, huge rooms, amazing restaurant and the staff (Jim especially) cannot do enough for you. We were here for 2 nights and we were the only guests (Cambodian election). We are in our 60’s from Australia and we walked 8km or more around Kep national park. There is a “convenience” store at end of the street which sells everything but the wine and beer at the hotel was great. Food was divine. The chocolate fondue… don’t share! 😀"

"The establishment is run by an elderly couple, clearly overwhelmed by the management. Every little problem escalates into a major argument, and communication is confusing. We were criticized for a late departure, even though an agreement had been reached that very morning. Incomprehensible. Cleanliness leaves much to be desired: numerous insects, including some very large ones, in the room. Even for those used to the tropics, it was shocking. We suffered a series of bites during the night, and not just from mosquitoes. Another problem: as soon as you leave the room, everything shuts off, including the refrigerator. It's impossible to recharge anything or keep drinks cold. No milk for coffee, because "there isn't any in Kep"... We had to insist heavily to get some. Finally, the scooter rental ($7/night) turned into a conflict: they tried to charge us for an extra night, despite our early departure. We left feeling uneasy. Perhaps it's time to hand over the reins to people more capable of managing this type of establishment."

While there wasn't a breakfast buffet, the made-to-order options were delicious, with a great selection including fried rice, English breakfast, and pancakes. For its prime location and hospitality, we would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back."

"I am writing this as a friendly warning for anyone considering Kep Bungalow. The receptionist, an older man, was extremely rude from the moment we arrived, and the hotel itself is nothing like the photos online. The water did not work, the place was very dirty, and honestly a rat den would be cleaner. The pool was dark green like a swamp, and if you swim in it you will probably melt or grow a second head. The bed and furniture were old and made loud noises, the mattress and pillows looked and smelled so dirty that you will want to run away, and even the kettle was growing mold inside. This place should not even be on any booking site and even if it were free I would not stay here again."
