"We stayed in a deluxe suite with a pool for 7 days. The room was somewhat run-down and felt quite old, unlike the photos online. Cleanliness was also subpar, likely due to the room's age. For example, there was mold in the grout between the bathroom sink and surrounding tiles, and the floor was cracked and always felt dirty. The sofa was white but very dirty, with faded colors and grime. The room's soundproofing was poor; we could hear conversations from upstairs in the bathroom. Furthermore, although the hotel advertised an all-inclusive package, they were very strict about bottled water and meal times. Each person was only allowed one bottle of water at a time, and it wasn't delivered; we had to get it ourselves from the bar. We were rushed around for meals if it was even slightly late, and the staff became quite rude. We had a small baby traveling with us, and although we requested a crib during booking and reminded the hotel via WhatsApp, there was no crib in the room. We waited over an hour after check-in before an extra crib was provided, disrupting the baby's sleep. In short, our experience with the hotel was subpar; the facilities, cleanliness, and service were not worth it."

"Next time I go, I think I'll plan to stay a little longer. It was so comfortable and nice that I almost regretted my short stay. The pool was much longer and larger than it appears in the photos, and I was impressed by the design, which allowed everyone in the room to enjoy the pool close to home."

"All in all a very pleasant experience. The service was incredible: they welcomed us warmly when we arrived late at night. They even served us sandwiches and water in our rooms fridge. The room was modern and clean. We were on our engagement trip and they surprised us with swan decor, rose petals and a wine bottle. The outside area was nice. Pool, sun beds, access to pool bar were lovely. We had an all inclusive trip ans enjoyed all the cocktails from the bar. They weren’t anything groundbreaking and were served in a plastic cup, but that didn’t really bother us. There is also an option for other cocktails which are served in a pretty glass but they do cost. Wines and beer were nice. I particularly enjoyed sangria mixing red wine with citrus juices! The food was okay. There were a lot of options and did change daily. We ate a lot and loved the timetable for them. Even if you slept in and missed breakfast, there still was a little snack table up! The quality of the food wasn’t “luxury” but it was good. The hotel is very kid and family friendly. There were a lot of family’s and kids and therefore it was a little noisy. We didn’t mind it but it could be a dealbreaker for someone. The area was a bit in the middle of nowhere. There were a few shops, a lovely beach and a fun waterpark. I enjoyed the peaceful “empty” land it was on. I would recommend a car though. The bus did come every 30 minutes or so and would take to Chaniá city in 45 minutes, but it was very crowded and the whole bus system was a little off. I would definitely visit again, it was a very nice chill holiday!"

"Great pool/ bar staff. The pool area is fantastic. Unfortunately this is the only positive thing about this hotel. It has had lack of investment in its rooms. Very worn out and low key. No kettle or Toaster. Poor beds and pillows. The bathroom sink had no cold water and the shower created a wet room, toilet leaked. No hangers in wardrobe and the safe was not fixed down."

"We returned to Alonia after a seven-year interval and it was just as lovely as before. The beds are very comfortable. The firm mattresses seemed new. The beds were very large, being made of two singles pushed together. We had AC as well as a fan so we were comfortable all through the exceptionally hot weather (32°). The pool was great and the food from the bar was very tasty and generous. The WiFi was good. The staff treated us like old friends and were attentive and helpful. We will certainly stay here again."
