Hotel Doña Teresa ★★★★

"I have stayed here a number of times over the past decade when volunteering with Pueblo Ingles. I have really liked to stay in this hotel and thus specifically volunteered for when this is the venue. It has been fine FOR ME before. Obviously I cannot speak for every week when used for PI over the years. In 2022 when I was there in July about half our party of getting on for 40 people fell sick. I did not. 2024 was fine. I was not so lucky this time. We heard that there had been sickness the previous week. There was in the week following ours too. The peak sickness was in my week. Of the 35 people in our group at least 30 fell sick with the sickness starting almost as soon as we arrived. How sick people were varied from a few hours or more to a week or more. I was in the latter group with over a fortnight of illness. No doctors were called so I cannot prove what the sickness was but it was assumed to be norovirus and when I described my symptoms to a doctor on-line that was confirmed. Everyone was kind but I was suffering. Obviously I do not know who would be responsible for the problem. I only know that there was a serious problem. I would be wary of going back without knowing that some sanitary action had taken place. I am sorry."

"It is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. This has been our fifth visits in recent years and will certainly be repeated. The staff is charming, make you feel like at home. The rooms are spectacular, La Alberca is one of the most beautiful villages in Spain."

"Great little stop on a road trip. It was extremely clean. My almost two year old dropped her soother under the bed and it came out without any hair or dust or anything. The floor was spotless. Very close to walk to the historic centre and easy to get street parking if you come in late. Late self check in was very easy to use we had no issues except that the parking garage doesn’t work at the moment and is a bit far from the hotel. The little cafeteria for a coffee and a croissant was nice in the morning. We would stay here again on a road trip without any hesitation."

"Our experience in this hotel is generally good. Location is quite good at nothing you come to the center. The facilities are very good. A cafeteria with reasonable prices and two terraces with good views. The spa, small but acceptable. The room and bathroom were very comfortable and clean, though they gave us a first floor and gave a large air tube that was not very nice. We asked to change the room because it was a romantic escape and the views were not very pleasant, but they denied it, apparently because it was complete. So nothing to do about it. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable. I wanted to make a special mention to a blond and thin cousin, which I think it was from Caceres who was very kind to us."
