"Stayed here for a week half board in May 2026. On our arrival at around 9.30 at night the welcome was standard meet and greet and we were shown to our room quite promptly after a welcome drink and being told you can find all the information needed about the site by scanning the QR code provided. Got connected to site WiFi and took it from there. Our room (3005) was a short walk from reception and was well appointed for wardrobe space, a mini bar with fridge as well as robes, slippers etc. Walk in shower and dual sinks - again pretty standard room facilities. No complimentary tea/coffee which we normally expect for this price range room/hotel. Room was serviced daily and very clean with bottled water supplied each day. One issue we only discovered on the second last afternoon while sitting outside was drain smell and discovered a man hole adjacent to the small patio area. Could be an issue as hotter weather prevails. No point asking for a move as only 2 nights to go. Found the breakfast restaurant Tamarisk in morning to be down by the pool and beach area. A nice e size of restaurant with plenty tables both inside and out. Choice in the restaurant is good with plenty of fresh and cooked food as well as coffee machines. Sometimes you are offered coffee at your table then the next day you need to get your own so not sure what the policy really was. Tables appeared to be cleaned as people left and never seemed rushed during our stay. The main pool area is quite nice and served by the pool Mare Mare bar. Sun beds are comfortable but the parasols are fixed and can't be moved. Wasn't really an issue as there was plenty of room between them but beds were quite stubborn to move. Towels were pretty much self serve from a small desk. Never saw a dedicated pool attendant or life guard the whole week. Service for drinks is old school - either go up to bar or wave at the staff. Think they might have been in process of upgrading to QR on the day we left which nowadays is pretty normal at 5 star. Despite when booking with our travel partner it was noted that the Menoa a la carte restaurant would be open from 20/4 we were told on day 2 that it would not be open during our stay and dinner would we served buffet style at Tamarisk. Dinner service from 7pm was okay but not outstanding. Food - options changed little over the week with some of the meat dishes suffering from the buffet style - pork dishes dry, chicken overcooked and also dry but lamb and oxtail dishes were very nice on ond evening. Veg and other options were fairly standard offerings. Drinks - water offered at table for €4/bottle and wine at varying prices. First night we asked for a sauvigon blanc at €33/bottle only to be told out of stock and offered alternative at €48. Start of a season and drinks on list out of stock wasnt a great sign. Went with the pricier bottle and told they could not keep the bottle if we didn't finish it for us but we were welcome to take it away to our room and anothe"

"If I could give more than five stars, I genuinely would. From the moment we arrived at Castello Boutique Resort & Spa, we felt something that is becoming increasingly rare on holiday – complete relaxation. Within minutes, the stresses of everyday life had disappeared, replaced by an overwhelming feeling that we were exactly where we needed to be. The hotel doesn’t just provide accommodation; it creates an atmosphere where you can truly switch off and simply enjoy every moment. The entire team deserves enormous credit. Every single member of staff greeted us with genuine warmth, smiles and enthusiasm throughout our stay. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and every interaction felt sincere rather than rehearsed. Two people, however, deserve a special mention. Epthimios was simply outstanding. His knowledge of wine was exceptional, and every evening he guided us towards the perfect bottle to accompany our meal. His recommendations never missed the mark and genuinely elevated each dining experience. Beyond that, he was incredibly friendly, engaging and somehow always seemed to know exactly how to make every guest feel special. As fellow football fans, our nightly conversations became something we genuinely looked forward to! Jennifer was equally wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional and always happy to help with anything we needed, she represents everything great about Greek hospitality. One moment perfectly summed up the attitude of the staff. I asked whether they could make an iced coffee, barista style. They admitted they hadn’t made one before, but rather than simply saying no, they embraced the challenge with smiles and enthusiasm. The result was fantastic, and it perfectly demonstrated the team’s willingness to go above and beyond to make guests happy. It’s that attitude that separates good hotels from exceptional ones. The housekeeping team also deserve huge praise. Our room was immaculate every single day, maintained to an exceptionally high standard, allowing us to return each afternoon to a space that felt fresh, comfortable and inviting. The food throughout our stay was absolutely exceptional. The evening à la carte menu was nothing short of outstanding. Every dish arrived looking like a piece of art, beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. Each evening became an experience rather than simply dinner, and it was consistently one of the highlights of our day. Breakfast catered for absolutely everyone. Whether you wanted fresh fruit and cereals, continental options, a full English breakfast or freshly prepared dishes from the à la carte menu, everything was plentiful, fresh and of excellent quality. It was the perfect start to every day. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, peaceful and stylish without ever feeling pretentious. It strikes the perfect balance between luxury and comfort, allowing you to completely unwind. We also fell in love with Sissi. What a beautiful village. It offers everything "

The hotel itself is beautifully positioned overlooking Mirabello Bay, with stunning views from almost every corner. The location is ideal, peaceful and relaxing, yet close enough to explore Elounda, Plaka and Spinalonga. The adults-only atmosphere creates a calm and luxurious environment that is perfect for unwinding. Our room, patio and private pool were excellent, spacious, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and with wonderful sea views. The housekeeping team did an outstanding job throughout our stay and consistently maintained the room to a very high standard. His flexibility, kindness, responsiveness and genuine concern made a difficult situation far easier to manage. Nothing was too much trouble, and he consistently found solutions whenever we needed assistance. It is rare to meet someone so dedicated to ensuring guests enjoy their stay, and he is a real credit to the hotel. Luxury hotels can have beautiful rooms, great food and stunning views, but it is the people who create lasting memories. The entire team at Royal Marmin Bay succeeded in doing exactly that. "We stayed in Ella Rocrita for 2 weeks mid June 2026. We had booked a Sea View Swimup room. We arrived around midnight and after check in (yes we had the tourist tax to pay but were aware of it) we were taken to our room on a golf cart. I was amazed by the size of the site. Our room unfortunately had an issue - the under floor heating was on and the entire room felt like a sauna, the thermostat showed the room to be 36.5c, we thought there was an issue and tried to suffer the first night adjusting the air conditioning, which over the next few hours reduced the room temperature to 27.5c by the morning. Over the next day or so we asked reception to send someone to look at the room, and eventually they did, but the workman said he could not fix it. Reception said they would move us, but not to a sea view, which we wanted, so we had to endure another night in the room. The room floor was like walking on concrete heated by the sun. The next day we were eventually moved rooms and I have to say it was a wonderful feeling. The food in the resort is excellent, the restaurants are fabulous and the staff and service is perfect. Even the buffet food was far superior to other All Inclusive resorts I have stayed in either in Europe or the Caribbean. The beach is great, a lot of waves, the pool area is perfect and there were a lot of free beds always, but we stayed at our room most days as we had full sun. The bars were all excellent, I never had an issue ordering drinks, and certainly did not have to wait. Limoncello Spritz is now my favourite drink I do not think I heard the word "no" once, and whichever staff member I met when walking around the resort I was always met with a smile and a cheerful greeting. It was my birthday when I was there and I got a cake delivered to my room, so thank you Ella Rocrita! Location wise it is remote, Mochlos is about 2km along the coast and I walked in every morning, there are a few shops and a few bars and restaurants. For food, I would highly recommend Bogazi, right on the seafront and around the corner is The Rocks bar, perfect for a sundowner. The front desk will arrange a taxi (Nikos is the man!). Overall I would say its great even with the issue with the room at the start. Would I go back? Maybe, if flight times were adjusted from Belfast to arrive a bit earlier so that we would arrive at a more reasonable time, our first day was over before we arrived. I had doubts given Facebook posts etc, but I would dispel any criticism given our experience. Also the cats are lovely, we even bought them some treats in the local supermarket, but they are very well fed, lots of people took meat etc for them from the restaurants."
