"Being unfamiliar with Ft Myers’s Beach, I researched a 2 night stay carefully. The rates at Lani Kai were favorable, even though it is family owned, we took a chance. It is an older hotel, but has been updated since hurricane Ian. The glider swings on beach and rooftop levels were very nice to sit and enjoy a beverage. The beach is pristine and directly behind the hotel. We enjoyed an anniversary dinner at the sundeck restaurant Island View, and it was an amazing meal. We were both very satisfied. Our room was clean. We don’t travel much, this was a quick getaway and enjoyed it. Other than 2 days of torrential downpours, typical Florida Spring weather, we enjoyed our stay. 4 stars for facility because the tunnel to the beach is quite dark and the elevators could also be updated."

"The hotel is a little far from the city center, but you can reach the city center within 10-15 minutes by car. The rooms are large, but not particularly nice. The bathroom in particular is a little unattractive. The staff are friendly and there is free parking. Breakfast was included, but not particularly tasty, though it was okay."

"As a transit hotel for one night its almost ideal. Big rooms, very good breakfast, which is unusual for the USA. Not noisy, free very big parking. Breakfast starts at 7am during weekends and at 6am week days. I would suggest making it 6am always. The only downside is the floor in our room was not very clean. Price is good if you book it in quite an advance with no cancellation option. I do recommend this one, if price is good for you and its just in a transit. Keep in mind thats nothing around."

"The room reeked of cigarettes despite being a non-smoking room. There was a lot of dirt between the sheet and the mattress protector. There was rust on the wall under the vent, and the furniture was very worn. I asked for another room, but they said the hotel was full, even though the parking lot was half empty when we arrived at 9:30 PM. We then left the hotel and stayed in another one. No accommodation was offered, and the staff even insulted us. I regret not taking pictures to show you. A very unpleasant experience. / La chambre sentait énormément la cigarette malgré que c'était une chambre sans fumée. Entre le drap et le protège matelas il y avait beaucoup de saletés. Il y avait de la rouille au mur sous l'aération et le mobilier était très usé. J'ai demandé une autre chambre mais ils ont dit que l'hôtel était complet malgré le stationnement à moitié vide à notre arrivée à 21h30. Nous avons alors quitté l'hôtel pour dormir dans un autre hôtel. Aucun accommodement n'a été offert et le personnel nous a même insulté. Je regrette de ne pas avoir pris des photos pour vous le montrer. Très désagréable comme expérience."
