Tucked away in the Dong village mountains, the soundproofing isn't quite up to par with city hotels. When we first checked into the Yao Bath Room, we could clearly hear the tour group upstairs flushing toilets. After informing our butler, they promptly moved us to a quiet room on the third floor the next day. The service was absolutely top-notch. The staff were efficient with luggage, and our butler was incredibly responsive and helpful with all our itinerary questions. The room had great views and a wonderful Dong village atmosphere. While the soundproofing is an inherent drawback of the location, their proactive approach to resolving issues made for a very satisfying overall experience. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who prioritizes excellent service."

"It was a really great inn and there was no point. The room was brand new, clean, fashionable, with all the necessary fixtures, and I was able to spend very comfortable. It was also helpful that the dryer was the latest and powerful one. (for long haired people, the performance of the dryer in the inn is important, so I think it's better to post a photo of the dryer.) My room is said to be the worst view room, but I could still see the beautiful mountain scenery. I had dinner cooked twice of the three nights, but the home cooking and beef using local ingredients were delicious. (maybe surprising, but I think the cow fits the Japanese mouth) The homemade Katsura sake was also delicious. Also, the Xiage Village, where this guest house is located, is a very quiet village, and I think it is best to stay in this Xiage Village than Zhaoxing and Doan. You can walk on the beautiful promenade to Zhaoxing and Tang'an, and there are also many shuttle buses. And above all, the owner and wife were really kind and nice couples. I asked a lot of questions and requests, so I think I caused a lot of trouble, but he always responded to all requests very well and very detailedly. I'm very poor at Chinese, so I think that alone took care of me. I travel frequently in China, but I was able to spend the most comfortable time ever. It's far from Japan, but I want to come here again. Really a great homestay, almost impeccable. The room is very new, clean and beautiful, the facilities are very complete, everything you need is available, and the stay is very comfortable. The hair dryer is also the latest, the wind is very strong, which is very convenient for me. (For long-haired people, the hair dryer performance provided by the hotel is actually very important information when choosing accommodation, so I suggest putting a photo of the hair dryer.) The proprietress said that my room is the "worst" room with the view, but you can still see the very beautiful mountain view. During my three-night stay, I had dinner at this homestay for two nights. The home-cooked dishes made with local ingredients are very delicious, and the burdock is also delicious. (I think the burdock is actually very Japanese.) The homemade osmanthus wine at the hotel is also delicious. In addition, the Xiage Village where the homestay is located is a very quiet small village. Compared to living in Zhaoxing or Tang'an, I think living in Xiage Village is the best choice. Walk along the beautiful trail, you can go to Zhaoxing and Tang'an, and there are many shuttle buses to and from, which is very convenient. Most importantly, the boss and the proprietress are really a very kind and warm couple. Because I asked a lot of questions and made a lot of requests, it should have caused them a lot of trouble, but they were very enthusiastic and very meticulous every time. I travel to China often, but this is the most comfortable homestay I have ever stayed in. Although the journey from Japan is far away, I still want to come here again."

"This guesthouse is perfectly located in the heart of Huanggang Dong Village's 'CBD,' right next to Gaoluo Drum Tower. You can reach it just by walking past the lotus pond. The room was very clean, and the air conditioning worked great. It had a private bathroom with a toilet, and while the bathroom was small, it was fully equipped. The owner was incredibly welcoming and proactively helped us carry our suitcases up to the second floor when he saw us arrive! Since it's a wooden building and close to the drum tower, the sound insulation isn't the best. Guests who are light sleepers might want to bring earplugs."
Yunyin Mountain Residence Scenic Homestay (Tang'an Dong Village)
"This was the most satisfying guesthouse during my trip to Guizhou. Located in Tang'an Dong Village, it offers a healing view of sprawling terraced fields right outside your window. The guesthouse was just built in October 2025, so the facilities are incredibly new and smart – you wouldn't expect this in a village guesthouse! The owners are also very welcoming; if you contact them in advance, they can pick you up from the Dong Village entrance. The best part is how convenient it is to watch both sunrise and sunset from the guesthouse, without having to take a bus and then a sightseeing car from Zhaoxing Dong Village. Especially for sunrise, you can book with the owner beforehand, and they'll drive you to the observation deck above Tang'an Dong Village. If you're lucky, you might even see a sea of clouds, which is absolutely spectacular! Tang'an Dong Village is quieter and less crowded than Zhaoxing Dong Village, making it perfect for a peaceful stroll. If you want to see terraced fields and sunrise and prefer to avoid crowds, this is the ideal place to stay! Looking forward to my next visit~"

"This is the most satisfying guesthouse I've ever stayed in. The room was spacious and very clean, with a free massage chair that was very comfortable. The service was also top-notch. The housekeeper contacted us a day in advance for pick-up and drop-off, which was very thoughtful and attentive. They even told us that we could stargaze on the rooftop, which was very considerate of me as a scenery enthusiast. The guesthouse provided breakfast and offered meal service, which suited my taste perfectly. They also had unlimited refills of freshly ground coffee during breakfast hours – fantastic! The location of the guesthouse was also superb, right in the middle of the rice terraces. You could see the terraces from your bed. In the morning, when there was mist, it was like a fairyland. In the evening, you could even watch the sunset directly from your bed – the scenery was absolutely stunning. It was also very convenient to get to Tang'an Dong Village and Zhaoxing Dong Village, with direct buses available. Overall, a perfect experience! I will definitely come back! [Happy]"

Dongfang International Hotel
"I. Booking and Check-in: The "Simple Double Room" on the platform was not labeled as a "Noise Discount Room." When booking the "Simple Double Room" on Ctrip, the page did not indicate "Discount Room" or mention any noise issues. From booking to check-in, the hotel never informed me by phone or other means that the room type was near an air conditioner unit. Upon arrival at the front desk, the staff verbally informed me: "The Simple Double Room you booked is a discount room because there is an air conditioner unit upstairs, which causes noise, so we are selling it at a lower price." It was raining outside and quite late, so I had to check in anyway. Isn't this a design flaw in the hotel? The front desk made it sound like I got a great deal. II. Room Issues: Excessive Noise + Obvious Odor Upon check-in, the ambient noise level was measured at approximately 58 decibels on the night of arrival, with the central air conditioning off and no one speaking. After reporting this to the front desk, staff explained that the rooms on the 12th floor were above the central air conditioning units, hence the noise issue. They added that all rooms on the 12th floor were discounted rooms, and I genuinely didn't know I had booked a "defective discounted room." I was surprised that a room costing 170 yuan couldn't even be quiet. Furthermore, there was a noticeable odor in the room, difficult to distinguish between disinfectant and urine, making my stay uncomfortable. Third, my request for a room change or refund was refused. Due to the noise problem, I was very annoyed and called the front desk to request a room change or refund. The front desk stated that all the basic rooms on the 12th floor had noise issues and that they were full and could not be upgraded; they also refused my refund, citing that I had already lain on the bed and that the hotel needs to disinfect daily. Fourth, complimentary items were not provided proactively. The order included a breakfast voucher and a fruit serving. I only received the breakfast voucher after actively inquiring; the fruit was not provided proactively, and I received no explanation for it. Fifth, the parking service was significantly different from what was advertised on the platform. The platform clearly states that it offers free parking and has its own parking lot. However, the actual experience was as follows: 1. In the afternoon, following the front desk's instructions, we entered the parking lot, only to find it full and with many illegally parked vehicles, resulting in one-way traffic. Cars were trying to exit from inside and enter from outside, causing a prolonged standoff. No staff were present to guide the traffic; drivers had to coordinate and direct their own efforts. One car couldn't even turn around and had to back out from the ramp at the entrance. 2. After exiting, we explained the situation to the front desk and were told we could park in front of the hotel. 3. Returning from dinner in the evening, the roadside parking was full. We were again asked to enter the parking lot, and the security guard said there were spaces available in the garage. My family followed the security guard into the parking lot, but because there were no designated spaces, our car was directed to park next to other vehicles, and the keys were handed over to the front desk for relocation. The above is our actual experience during this stay. The platform failed to disclose room defects, we were not informed before check-in, the room was excessively noisy and had a noticeable odor, complimentary items were not proactively provided, and parking management was chaotic. This is for future bookings to consider."

"My stay at the Zhaoxing Dong Village was incredibly therapeutic. The hotel retains the traditional Dong stilted house style, with a warm and pleasing aesthetic thanks to the natural wood. The rooms were impeccably clean, free of dampness or odor, and the facilities were complete and functional. Opening the window revealed verdant mountains and the Dong village's wooden houses. At night, sitting on the balcony, watching the lights of the drum tower twinkle, accompanied by a gentle mountain breeze, was pure bliss. The hotel staff were attentive and helpful, assisting with luggage, patiently explaining village sightseeing tips, and recommending local delicacies. It was convenient for exploring the village, offering a peaceful retreat amidst the bustling city, and I slept very well. This accommodation greatly enhanced my trip to the Dong village, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Zhaoxing."

The hotel is located on a main road; if you don't mind the inconvenience, you can book a hotel further out, where the price difference is significant."
