📍 Cortijo Pozo Villa, 37, Granada, Huetor Tajar
★★★ 9.0 (24 reviews)

"Somewhere in the middle of nowhere between Granada and Malaga, I chose this ☆☆☆ hotel for price reasons. The hotel met my expectations with one caveat. I received a friendly welcome late in the evening, although the lady at reception didn't really understand the booking system. There was also a can of beer for the thirsty guest. The breakfast was praiseworthy, lovingly prepared for only €8. The beautiful veranda with seating will probably only reveal its charm in the spring. There are free parking spaces on the main road. Now for the caveat: the room smelled really bad. So much so that I got a headache. Even leaving the window open all night at 1°C didn't help. The hotel urgently needs to do something about this."

Expecially one blonde woman at the reception directly lie to us. Worst hotel i wisited. We learn that they do not provide hot water and always say a technician comes and fix it. It is a lie. A blonde receptionist woman, she is very intresting. She does nothing. Directly lied to me. Do not stay at this hotel."

"A beautiful modern hotel with comfortable beds, spacious rooms and a fabulous terrace to sit out on in the summer evenings. I can't comment on the food as we were part of a visiting coach party and we didn't experience the a la carte menu."

"I asked about access from airport to the hotel at the evening. I was announced that I need to take a taxi or uber, but its costs much more expensive than using a bus. It was zo noisy outside of the hotel at the restaurant/bar next door during the night. It wad difficult to get asleep."

"Very competitive prices. Very well located near the metro. But the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The sink and bathtub were covered in hair. There was dust on the nightstand and headboard."

"Absolutely beautiful village in the hills, a wonderfully peaceful stay, Rustic decor with comfy bed, we stayed in room 4 which has a little roof terrace. Great self check in. The village itself is just gorgeous, there is plenty of parking nearby and our host sent us all the info we needed before checking in and asked about dietary requirements which was great as I am lactose intolerant, they looked after us very well, would recommend a stay here to any explorers...great spot "

Albenzaire Hotel Asador ★★★
"We ate from the menu and everything was spectacular. The charcoal-grilled chicken was very good and served in large quantities. The salad and the salmorejo were also very good. Accompanied by exquisite poor potatoes. 100% recommended. The service was also very good and fast. A must stop for lunch or dinner, a very cozy place."

Hotel El Mirador ★★★★
"Excellent modern hotel, we only stayed for one night on route to Algarinejo and would definitely use it again. We stayed in a suite, which was fantastic, large bathroom, king size bed with an additional seating area with 2nd tv. We checked in late evening and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast for 10 euros was good value for money, there were two cereals, bacon, potato tortilla, fried and scrambled eggs, fresh tomatoes, selection of meats and fruit, pasties, yoghurts etc. Fresh orange juice and the usual tea coffees. Served 07:30 to 10:30, we were a little late however the staff cooked up more eggs and bacon for us once we asked. Overall excellent hotel, definitely will be staying again."

Casa del Trigo ★★★★
"As I have just come back from this excursion I wanted to write my review whilst it was fresh in my mind. This is NOT a 4 Star hotel, 3* at best, definitely in a small town of it's own with nothing much to do as siesta's are still a thing. So by the time you wake up have something to eat, everywhere is closed by 1pm to reopen again at 7pm. The hotel is old looking with no minibar or jacuzzi as described, but a mini refrigerator and a jacuzzi that hasn't worked in nearly a year? The town consists of bars, pharmacies, convenient stores, and one or two clothes shops, which if you miss in the morning you can catch in the evening. I wanted to give it a one star, but the staff was amazing to me and the family, maybe because we was polite and nice from the beginning. I was told if we wanted a massage they did have someone but it wasn't a spa environment like we was hoping for, the breakfast was basic, boiled eggs scrambled eggs bacon, and then fillers with cereal and hot beverages.. There is only half-board, or you can order from the menu. Thank god for the convenient store across the road that had everything we needed, and it didn't close in the afternoon's. We didn't know that Malaga airport was nearly 2 hours away but we didn't get the option to travel into Granada airport which was 15 minute away. The locals said the beach was half an hour away, and we noticed the buses ran every hour. Would I go again, only for piece and tranquillity but for fun and proper 5* experience nope properly not. I think the description for the hotel needs to be amended as its false advertisement and very off putting once you realise you have no choice but to stay."

"We had a perfect 4 night stay here. We were in room 4 which has its own private roof terrace - even in January it was perfect to sit out on and enjoy the sun and views over the town. The owners are lovely and the breakfasts are amazing - freshly cooked for you each day and a different breakfast every day. We had French roast, shakshuka, bagels.. all delicious! Location is great - right in the middle of a beautiful little town with great restaurants right on your doorstep. Parking within a couple of minutes walk easy (in January anyway!) and free. Would 100% stay here again if in the area!"
