"Location is central, close to beach, shops, restaurants, cafes etc. It is the most ideal location in Lorne. The hotel itself, was fairly well maintained, but needs further attention to cleaning / upgrades / improvements. The hotel has indoor pool, spa, sauna, but was overcrowded and seemed somewhat unhygienic. Balconies lacked cleaning maintenance. Room was spacious, but aging, in need of TLC. Price wise is fair and reasonable, we would stay again."

"I stayed there recently with my wife and two young children. My wife booked through Agoda and didn’t click children in the family cabin as it advertised kids free. There was no price difference when you did add children. They harassed my wife on the Thursday of the booking saying we owed them an extra $30 Per child per night. My wife spoke to them and said she would check with Agoda but thought they were free. We can from dinner to find ourself confront my two males. After they turned the power off I was choked, and assaulted and had minor injuries ( bloody knee, scrapes and bruising…. My kids were screaming… this is ridiculous…. We called and the police and left. This would have to be the worst my life and my children’s life. Horrific"

"This has got to be one of the best retreat cottages we have been to . Just returned from a 3 night stay , and we would definitely go again . We brought our Labrador , and so convenient that we could leave him and go out for a few hours during the day . Very secure if leaving pets . Good ammenities , and close to the pub and restaurants . Clean and very presentable . Definitely a 5 star rating and would strongly recommend ."

"It’s a nice resort, has great amenities like indoor heated pool, trampoline for kids and tennis court, very suitable for family! Wish they have two double beds instead of one double bed one single bed. Soundproof can be improved (we could hear noises from outside very clearly) Spacious room with a small sink and pantry with microwave and small fridge, friendly for family with kids. Bathroom is big, however, the water pressure was hopeless, hot water very hard to adjust, hot too hot, cold too cold and almost like leaking water without any pressure. Great location, near to IGA and small businesses around the corner, fish and chips nearby is very good - must try! Reception ladies are lazy and not helpful, the man was okay. Thank you for the complimentary yin yoga class, I had a great time for an hour. We will come back again in December during summer, see you again!"

"Our kid enjoyed the facilities, and the animals were a wonderful treat. HOWEVER, very disappointed by the lack of integrity for the environment and surrounds. Plastic rubbish strewn throughout the river, river water quality abysmal (blame the ducks if you want to, but do something to improve the water flow and quality). Water not safe for kids to be in, and the flow into the sea made the beach smell funky and rotten. There are signs at the beach to say the river is not safe, but no signs at the Big4, why? Barely any rubbish bins around so no wonder there was rubbish everywhere. No attempt to provide composting facilities or recycling in convenient locations. Huge amounts of glass mixed with food scraps in the kitchen. Cleaners should be utilised during busy weekends throughout the park, not just in bathrooms that also need more regular cleaning (and we all know they could afford this). And then we found out the tap water isn't safe. My kid ended up with a fever and we left early, but I won't be so quick to blame the water, but we couldn't find any water to purchase once we realised it's not safe to drink. There should be signs or text messages. It was a really busy weekend, but all the kids on e-vehicles that don't know how to ride them made it feel a bit unsafe for our toddler. Half of them without helmets. And then some of the families were really getting on the piss - good for them, not great for our camping experience. Maybe we're not Big4 people, but would love to see them valuing and acknowledging the landscape they're making money off."
