High Beach Resort

"On the end of August, beginning of September we stayed at the High Beach White wing of this resort, which is for adults only, in Malia. This resort is managed perfectly with a very friendly staff that have the goal to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We had a perfect 42 sqm. room, beautifully designed and that seemed to be new, good, big bed, excelent bathroom with big towels and bathrobes, and a good view to the sea from the nice balcony. All the resort is beautifully designed and taken care off and very very clean. The resort has 5 pools, usually empty of people in the water but with people on the sunbeds around them. The restaurant of the resort was nice, spacious, clean and quiet and the food was varied, interesting and in abundace. The restaurant staff was very helpful and nice. The only disadvantage for us was that the beach,( which is really close and you can go in your swim suit and where you have a reserves seat ) is very narrow and crowded with chairs which don't leave the space to feel the sea or even to walk on the beach. The staff does the maximum in order to make their beach nice to stay but it is still crowded. If you don't care about the beach this is a lovely and perfect resort."

"We booked this hotel for our honey moon and it has ticked every box, staff are amazing from the cleaners to the receptionist. The hotel is absolutely spotless the attention to detail is second to none, the pool is clean and very relaxing, cocktails are amazing especially made by Maria during the day or Carlos at night, breakfast there is a huge selection catering for every fussy eater, my only criticism is the evening selection is more catered for the Germans so we ended up eating out 4 of our 7 night stay unless you wanted salads then your fine. The staff are extremely friendly and really can’t do enough for you. The rooms are clean, bright and well equipped we had a room with a jacuzzi we stayed in room 1212 had a pool and sea view from the balcony but nice and quiet. We looked at one of the rooms with a swim up pool and these were out of this world and definitely what we will book on our return visit. This hotel should be a 5 star, one of the best we’ve ever stayed in and will definitely be returning."

"We loved our stay at Socrates. We visited as part of a group of 8 and from moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Every member of staff was very friendly but special mention must go to Debbie and Helen who work at bar . They absolutely made our holiday ! What a fantastic pair. We felt like family by end of week. Rooms are a bit dated but spotlessly clean and beds very comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection ( our friend missed her baked beans though 😋) We d have no hesitation in recommending Socrates to our friends and look forward to returning again."

"Overall it was a very nice hotell with the near location too the strip, restaurants and beach. The rooms were fresh and pretty such as the pool area. It also was cheap. The only thing that was bad was the night guard which was being very rude to us when we checked in late at night. For example he asked us if we were drunk when we didn’t know the way to the reception, and if we were dumb when we didn’t understand an English word, which didn’t made us a good first impression. The rest of the staff was nice. The breakfast wasn’t so nice."

"Where do I start, no balls allowed by pool, no music allowed to be listened to, towels not replaced all week, not even allowed to have water unless purchased from the hotel bar. Would never recommend to anyone, would not even wish this on my worst enemy."

Koni Village Hotel

"Nothing drastically wrong with the place. The rooms are adequate as are the facilities. It's clean, the staff are mostly warm and friendly. Food is ok, not great but always something to eat. They do need to sort out crockery and cutlery as they run out quite quickly. The main problem is the location, it's too hilly for anyone with medical problems as we've learnt. Jet2 reps worse than useless and invisible. Stalis itself is great. We will be back, but not to Koni."
