"Pleased with the experience here at the The Sarpidon. I found it to be very clean, friendly and as a solo traveller( 3rd time in Crete) , the clientele is made up of plenty of frequent visitors who were wonderful to meet and chat too. The lovely Anne and Peter, Jane and Michelle and the hilarious Marie from Ireland - in promise I will return the glass 😇. The rapport the staff have with visitors is priceless. You could have paid 10 times the cost and still not received the attention and friendliness that I feel I had received here . Apologies to Dora who had to chase me down the street because I forgot to pay for my last snack - 100 m sprint better than an Olympic event. So sorry Dora 🙏. Won’t happen again 🫣. Situated right in the centre of Old Malia, close to a very convenient travel route that can take you from one end of the island to the other, with buses coming every 20 minutes. Take a walk out of the west exit of hotel and you find yourself in a delightful and quaint Old Village of Malia , rich in historic buildings, some converted into stunning restaurants and picture postcard beautiful streets. Sarpido also offers delicious meals and drinks reasonably priced and plenty on offer . The beach is in walking distance about 400 m or so but the beach on Malia is squeezed with so many sunbeds you’re near on top of each other - preferred the lovely cove at Hersonnisos 24 or around the pool the days I wasn’t off exploring. Sarpidon is ideally situated, surrounded by a stunning backdrop of mountains yet has everything you need for a memorable, relaxing holiday . Highly recommend. Keep Euros and change . Much preferred than card ."

"5/5 all round, me and my partner stayed here on the 8th July - 16th July in room 1205 , upon arrival we were greeted by a very nice man that collected our suitcases and brought us into reception to meet a woman that gave us the run down of the hotel, our package, where things are etc. All of the reception staff were brilliant and so helpful one of the reception staff that stood out for us was Elena and her team that she worked with she was so polite helpful and welcoming, thankyou. The reception staff assisted and helped us in an altercation that we were involved in on our leaving day due to the transfer arriving extremely late in which they helped and assisted us so much which we were very grateful for. Breakfast was perfect which consisted of a variety of foods, cakes and drinks again all of the workers were brilliant and very accommodating throughout but the whole time in our stay we really picked up on service and how helpful the waiters Gobi and Desponia was. These two need a real praise, especially Gobi he was so polite, kind and always good to have a chat too he was our favourite worker throughout our stay at King Minos and want to thank him for being so good at his job, same goes for Desponia. Lunch and dinner again were very enjoyable and had a variety of foods including pies, pizza, pasta, chicken dishes and cakes, however my partner and I both agreed that there needs to be more ‘ picky bits of food ‘ such as easy food including burgers, variety of pizzas, sausages and sausage rolls and more. Be regardless all of the food that we tried was very flavoursome cooked the right way and had no concerns. Overall our stay at King Minos was brilliant and can not fault this hotel one bit as they looked after us and were exceptional in helping us two and everyone else that stayed here. All workers were very polite and kind and never once had a problem. If we had an issue with something and raised it then the staff would do everything to try sort this such as requiring an extra pillow etc. Finally all of the cleaners were extremely respectful and nice people one cleaner that stood out for us was Uwana she would respect when we would want the room cleaned and not. "Me and my friend have just come back from an unreal week staying in malia. The hotel was genuinely perfect lovely reception and staff. The reception area closes every night at 9pm. Location is perfect it’s situated right on the strip which is perfect for the nightlife. 10–15 mins walk to the beach and about 10 to malia old town. There’s also a big supermarket located about 5 mins away. Considering the hotel is located right on the strip the hotel is very quiet and you could not hear any noise from the strip. Air conditioning is such a reasonable price at around 7€ per day and it works amazingly. The maid was also lovely and did a really good job of cleaning the room she offered swapping the towels every other day. The pool over at the help bar, which is just across the road is perfect for what you need plenty of sun loungers and a grassed area too. The lady who works there is so lovely. You’re not allowed to bring in any food or drink from outside which is understandable as it is a bar, however we were often ok with just having a bottle of water with us. At night time they also offer some really good drink deals so would also recommend that. However, the only issue we faced was the transfer. We booked a package holiday with easyJet and our flight was a late night flight it was supposed to land around 10pm Crete time however we were delayed 2 hours and ended up getting to the location around 2am. The transfer pick up and drop off location is at the McDonalds on the strip approx 10 mins walk to the hotel. Me and my friend had to drag our suitcases through crowds of drunk people and dodge reps trying to drag us into their bars even with our suitcases. Just something to be very aware if you do have a late night flight during the busier season as this walk turns into a 20 minute due to the obstacles. 😂😭 For the price we paid Le Palme was really worth every penny we loved our stay and we would come back and stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you❤️"

"Stayed here with a friend in June and absolutely loved it. The room was big, super clean, and had a private balcony with an amazing sea view—waves, stars, even a little chapel on an island. Total peace and privacy. We slept with the screen door open every night—no bugs, no AC needed: just the sound of the sea. The fridge was convenient, and in the pool bar drinks and meals are available. Staff was lovely, even served us a late meal when we arrived around midnight. Parking was easy, and it’s a great base for visiting spots like Sissi and the Minoan ruins. After exploring, we’d relax by the pool or garden—no loud music, just sea breeze. Malia’s restaurants are close by, and at walking distance. Just a small wish? A couple of hooks in the bathroom and a luggage stand would be handy. But that’s just nitpicking—this place is a gem."

"Lovely familyrun studios. Clean and friendly, the family always greet you with a smile. They helped me take my suitcase to my room and happily chat with guests. Nice area, 7 minutes walk to Malia Old Town, close to supermarkets and restaurants. Nice open area by the pool, drinks reasonably priced. We had a great Easter with the family; they cooked us BBQ and homemade potatoes"

"Good apartments. Clean and tidy. No complaints about this. Just keep track of what you use at the pool bar. It's located by the sea, so there's always a sea breeze. We were the last guests of 2024, and it was noticeable. All the apartments were emptied."
