Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Saiki Bekkan (Old: Yukai Resort Saiki Bekkan)

Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Saiki Bekkan (Old: Yukai Resort Saiki Bekkan) ★★★★

📍 Yamada 70, Misasa

"Misasa Onsen is a great place. Saigi Annex is a beautiful and spacious inn. It's a 15-minute drive from Kurayoshi Station, costing about 3,000 yen. A taxi can be booked from the inn to Kurayoshi Station for 140 yen per person. The hot spring town is under a 10-minute walk away, and a 5-minute stroll along the Mitoku River, enjoying the tree-filled morning light, is also a 5-minute walk. The food is generous, with good breakfast and dinner, and plenty of food. Breakfast is simple, but the roast pork and chicken wings for dinner are recommended. There's a drink lounge on the first floor, offering a wide selection of drinks, including plum wine, beer, and red and white house wine. The hot springs are good, and the open-air baths are cool. The air conditioning in the room was very accurate. The Japanese garden is also beautiful. For value, it's a 5-star hotel."

"The natural rock cave hot spring was fantastic! (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎)‼ The hotel interior was very Japanese-style and clean. The service was good. The food was also excellent. You need to book a shuttle bus in advance to get to the hotel from Kurayoshi Station. A bus will take you to Kurayoshi Station after check-out."

"I stayed for one night from January 31st. The inn is a very historic building, and it has about five different indoor baths, including a slightly larger public bath, which I was very happy with. The meals were served in a private room, and there were many appetizers and fish dishes, which were excellent. Due to the heavy snow, there wasn't much to see around the inn, so I spent my time in a very quiet atmosphere. I would like to visit again during the warmer season."

"The food and drinks were absolutely delicious! Everything at the buffet was delicious, and I was especially impressed by the bamboo steamed squid served at dinner. The carbonated drinks and plum wine I enjoyed in the lounge on the first floor after meals and after a bath were also delicious. The room was clean, and the view of the snow and hot spring town from the window was amazing... The shuttle service to Kurayoshi Station on my way back was also very helpful (reservations required, 140 yen). Overall, it was a great hotel!"

"The plan included breakfast. In the evening we went to a nearby teppan restaurant to eat. It would have been great if there was an elevator..."

"The room is small for a hot spring hotel. The hot springs are okay. The service attitude of the staff is very good, and one of the staff can speak Mandarin."

"We went as a couple. The food was delicious and we were very satisfied with our eyes, tongue and stomach. Not only dinner but also breakfast was more than enough for New Year's Day, with ozoni and other New Year's dishes. We would like to go again. Thank you very much."

"I was very satisfied with the modern room. The room was very spacious, and I even used the private hot spring bath in the room, which was also quite large. Dinner was plentiful and delicious, and although the breakfast selection was somewhat limited, the quality was good. Both breakfast and dinner were served in separate rooms, ensuring a quiet and private dining experience."

"I chose this place for a reunion with my sister after 20 years. The two private baths lack shower facilities, and the water trickles into the tub through a blue hose. Is this really a free-flowing bath? My sister, a bit of a germaphobe who never uses the public baths, never entered the baths. It was a hot day, and she probably wanted to wash off her sweat, but she kept filling the washbasin with water. I urged her to wipe herself down, but she refused. I used the public bath, but the water pooled in the uneven rocks at my feet without draining, making it feel unsanitary. The baths are supposed to be open 24 hours a day, but the lights were turned off in the early morning, and I couldn't find the power source. I waited until my eyes adjusted to the darkness before entering, which was quite dangerous. I was looking forward to the kaiseki cuisine photos in the IT section, but the reality was completely different. The sashimi was not very fresh, and the blue fish was bloody and stained, so I refrained from eating it. My sister picked up her chopsticks first, but couldn't move on as it didn't suit her palate, and I lost my appetite when I saw the food being presented. I couldn't eat anything at dinner, and I called to ask for white rice and pickles, but the white rice was soggy like porridge and inedible. My sister declined breakfast as we were unable to take a bath while visiting the hot springs, but we were hungry and had time before our train the next day, and there were no restaurants nearby. The breakfast was generally salty and far from tasty, and I felt truly sorry for my sister who had invited me. The room didn't lock, the keyhole just turned round and round, and even though they explained how to lock it at check-out, it was too late. When I told them that the meal contents were different to the photo on the website, they said, "Oh, that's just an image," and it must have been a scam! All in all, it cost over 50,000 yen for two adults, and it was an incredibly painful stay."

"Anyway, there was no one there, so it was great to have the bath all to myself. This was my sixth time at Misasa Onsen, but it was the first time I stayed for two nights, so I was able to relax♪ The hot springs in Misasa are the best after all. Thank you very much."
