"We chose this place simply for its name! The surroundings were charming right from the entrance courtyard, with its plants and rows of prickly pear plants adorning the outdoor areas. Our room was very spacious (we booked the Viola suite). The breakfast was varied and authentic, served in a well-organized communal area. "Beautiful hotel. I think this property would be fantastic for a romantic couples getaway, including for Sicilians. There's the perfect sized public beach, private beach club, pool, breakfast and lunch / dinner restaurants, spa, gardens, and excellent rooms. The sunset is spectacular. The reception desk team is very friendly and helpful and was particularly effective in assisting me book multiple transportation needs. Also a great spot to stay if you are planning on taking the nearby ferry to Malta."

"My sister and I had the immense pleasure of visiting Modica in May of this year. Our first trip to Sicily was a very pleasant surprise. This started with our accommodation in between Modica Alta and Modica Bassa. Nestled away below the steps of St Giorgio's Cathedral, the Siciliando is located in the perfect position to get to know the true side of Monica. Best of all, the welcome from Rosalina and Graziana was fab. They are in the process of renovating their beautiful palazzo (not that you would notice any disruption) and there is a wonderful sense of calm. Our room was in the newer part of the property so clean and crisp. The room was cleaned everyday and used towels replaced daily together with clean sheets after a few days. This is rare in B and Bs Breakfast is included and includes all sorts of homemade preserves and a freshly baked cake! Due to the location, away from the main roads, it was very quiet too. The only downside is the steps. This was not a problem for us but could be for others so it's worth checking with them. They will come to your assistance but obviously you'd need to inform them. All in all it was superb value and made our visit truely memorable!"

"My daughter and I stayed at MPH for three nights in early July. While the hotel has some lovely features, our overall experience was unfortunately impacted by several avoidable issues. We were initially given a room with a window rather than a balcony, which was due to an error by the booking agent—not the hotel. We requested a swap, but no balcony rooms were available. That said, the room was clean, modern, and the beds were comfortable. We also really enjoyed the breakfast—fresh and well-prepared. The hotel is located in a fairly remote area, and with the on-site restaurant closed during our stay, we had to drive out every evening to find dinner. We stayed in Room 1, which is right next to reception. Unfortunately, this made for a very disturbed first night due to loud noise and what sounded like shouting during the night. We requested a room change and were moved to a room on the first floor, which was thankfully much quieter. On the second evening, we returned to the hotel around 10pm hoping to have a drink at the bar, but were told it closed at 8pm and only soft drinks were available. That night, however, we did manage to get a good night’s sleep. On our final night, we came back to loud music and a full DJ party by the pool and garden area. This was quite a shock, especially as we needed to wake at 6am for a four-hour drive to the airport and from the car in the UK. I called reception at 11:30pm to ask when the music would end, as the bass was extremely loud and disturbing. I was told it was a birthday party. When I pointed out that it was a Monday and some guests might have work or early travel, the receptionist replied that it "shouldn't affect me since I was on vacation." That response was disappointing and dismissive. Overall, this is a nice hotel with a great pool, good breakfast, and mostly polite, helpful staff. But the lack of consistency and poor communication about noise disruptions seriously affected our stay. Had I known in advance about these issues—particularly the late-night events and limited dining/bar options—I would have chosen a different hotel."

"We spent a week here and would definitely recommend it. The hotel is excellent value. The rooms are nice although room 109 has a very small shower. Spacious pool and garden area. Located in a peaceful, rural area of Sicily. We drove to the beach every day. But the gem of this place is the restaurant. The locals flock here every evening - but don’t worry it’s not near the rooms so wouldn’t disturb you. Delicious food - try the mussel soup. The pizzas are amazing. And all served by lovely staff. A real family feel."
