Super 8 by Wyndham Henrietta/Rochester Area

"Stayed here for Solar Eclipse. Nice enough hotel, staff very attentive. Breakfast good, breads, bagels, oatmeal, waffles, yogurt, juice, and cereal. Fresh fruit consisted of mandrin oranges and apples. We spent over $600 for our 2 night stay; very high for the type of hotel but it was one of the least expensive for this event. We would have no problem staying there again if needed and if the cost is way less."

Woodcliff Hotel and Spa

"I am writing this review on the first day of January 2026 because I want to ensure no other travelers make the same mistake I did in the coming year. My December stay at Woodcliff Hotel and Spa was not just a disappointment, it was a medical nightmare. The room was freezing. Even with the thermostat set to 70°F, it did not work, leaving me exposed to the cold on my first night. I found bugs in the room, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. Following this stay, I contracted an Adenovirus infection (hotel to home, I had fever on the day I checked out, and passed out in bed when I got back home. I got my diagnosis on day 3 because I couldn’t sleep at night, it was worse than covid19). I spent 10 days in agony with a high fever, conjunctivitis (eye infection), and a cough so severe I could not sleep for 8 straight nights. My entire Christmas season was ruined. The hotel’s lack of care is staggering. I completed their guest survey to report these health and safety issues but received zero feedback. Do not start your 2026 by staying here. Between the broken facilities, pests, and the total lack of accountability, this hotel is a health risk. Please stay somewhere else."

"Not great, not horrible. There seem to be a a lot of “regulars” who hang out and enjoy each other’s company, which seemed okay. Everyone was friendly. The furnishings were adequate but obviously not brand new."

School 31 Lofts

"Let me say it first, although there were some episodes at the beginning, I finally changed the luxury loft room with kitchen (visually 60-70 square meters) in coordination with the hotel party. I checked the background. This building is Alexander Hamilton School No. 31 (31st public school), built around 1919 – 1922. It was originally a public school named after the founding father of the United States and has been used for decades. It is mainly for primary school students, such as reading and writing, arithmetic, history, etc. Around 1980, after the school function ended, the building was redeveloped, and it was used for educational, theological and other purposes. Now the century-old building has been transformed into School 31 Lofts, and there is also a film and television production facility Colors Studios. It retains the original stone facade, school entrance and other historic architectural features, and is listed by the city of Rochester as a building of important historical value. I actually stayed, the interior decoration is very special 1. Retain the original school characteristics: a large number of original blackboards, classroom layout, high ceilings, wooden floors, etc., let people see that it used to be a school. 2. Retain the texture of the old building: some brick walls, walls and architectural structures are directly exposed, not completely covered with modern materials, highlighting the sense of age of a century-old building. 3. The theme of film and television is very obvious: movie posters, film and television-related decorations and props can be seen in public areas and guest rooms, because it is also a film and television production space of Colors Studios . 4. Retro industrial style: old books, blackboards, bare bricks, old wood, etc. combined with modern furniture to form a style of industrial + vintage , not traditional luxury hotels. The overall concept is “historical building reuse”: it is not to completely renovate the old school into a modern hotel, but to try to retain the original appearance of the school, and then transform the classroom and other spaces into Loft, hotel rooms and film and television workspaces. 6. The kitchen is fully equipped and easy to use, with a full set of Corning tableware. Not so good place, remind everyone to pay attention. Some areas of the building have a slight sinking of the ground and are also surrounded. I don't know if there is a safety risk. The height of the floor feels close to four meters. If you are staying alone, if you are a girl, because the indoor lighting is dim, it is quite oppressive, plus the buildings and furniture are old, a bit awkward. No one cleaned during the stay, and there was no front desk, which was the email/phone 24/7 said to be service."
