"The butler was very polite and provided friendly service. The price was reasonable and breakfast was included. However, the water pressure was very low when showering late at night."

Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel

Kilimanjaro Wonders Hotel

📍 Kigoma Street, Moshi
★★★★ 8.2 (54 reviews)

"This hotel claims to face the Kilimanjaro but i feel it is still quite far. Basic hotel and felt we were the only guests they had. Rooms were fairly big and tidy. Bathroom was tilely and unwelcoming. Something felt off with their dingy lighting in the toilets. although they had claimed to be Halal hotel, unfortunately not. We had to request for separate food to be cooked which they kindly complied and Chef came out to make us comfortable with his cooking of Halal meals for us. Otherwise was a good enough hotel for a short stay in transit to Serengeti Safari."

Kili Haven Lodge

"Kili Haven Lodge truly felt like a home away from home! The room was spacious, clean, and super comfortable just what I needed after long travel days. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was a big plus. And the breakfast? Absolutely delicious fresh, local, and full of flavor. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the peaceful setting made my stay even more special. I’d definitely recommend this gem in Moshi to anyone visiting!"

The Better Inn

The Better Inn

📍 J8WF+29X, Soweto, Moshi
★★★ 8.0 (5 reviews)

"I stayed for one week. Overall it wasn't too bad, but I am not a difficult person to please. More picky customers would probably not be too happy with the service. The Positives: - The Room was a decent size, had great water pressure and a very effective hot water heater. - Bed was quite comfortable and had extra pillows - area is quiet and peaceful setting - the food was quite delish - only a short boda or tuktuk ride into town Negatives: - the power goes out often - no AC in rooms (does have fan though) - no screens on windows...so when the power goes out and you have no fan, you can't even open the windows at night cause you'll get eaten alive by mosquitoes...so you just sit in a hot ass room with no air movement. - staff were friendly but seemed very unmotivated. Had to wave someone down every single time I needed a refill of my drink, or anything like that. - in 7 days, my room was not cleaned once. I am sure they would have if I asked, but normally this is something that is automatically done."

Nyota Safari Lodge Moshi

Nyota Safari Lodge Moshi

📍 Twiga street Soweto, Moshi
★★ 9.0 (2 reviews)

"Our stay at Nyota Safari Lodge was very pleasant overall and ideal for travelers planning activities around Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge is well located and works perfectly as a base before or after Kilimanjaro excursions. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the experience felt authentic and welcoming. The food was freshly prepared every day and tasted excellent. We especially enjoyed the typical local dishes, which made the stay feel like a genuine cultural experience rather than just a standard hotel stop. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. It is also a good place to organize activities: you can easily ask about safaris and tours in advance and receive very good offers directly through the lodge. This makes planning onward travel and excursions simple and convenient. Overall, a lovely and comfortable stay — especially recommended for anyone traveling to the Kilimanjaro region and looking for a reliable base with great local food and helpful service."

The Better Inn ★★★
"Better inn hotel is beautiful. The communal sitting area is very relaxing, we enjoyed the free breakfast and the room was clean. They do need to work on keeping the boiler turned on, as the cold shower issue was still happening during our stay. There is a street with a variety of small shops nearby and we were told by a local we met outsode the hotel that there is also a small market nearby, but we weren't staying long and decided not to go. A lot of locals came upto us while we were walking, and it was hard to know their intentions - The staff said that if we wanted to go for a longer walk one of the staff would be happy to accompany us to make sure we felt safe. Isack Ibava looked after us during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed, the treatment was 5*. He is professional, amiable and considerate. He organised a driver when we needed it and was able to give us advice on what to do. We went to Materuni Waterfalls & coffee experience (One of my mums favourite parts of our short Tanzania trip) with Isack as our guide- he is a wonderful & knowledgeable guide and I highly reccomend him. Isack woke up really early twice to make sure we had breakfast before our Safari & gorilla trek (3.30am), and when we were late back to the hotel from our safari called me to make sure everything is OK. Also a thank you to Denis for being our driver & a friendly face, and a thank you to the head chef Maduu who also looked after us. - Fiona & Alana"

"I couldn't ask for a better hotel. The rooms were very clean and even had mosquito nets. Unused rooms were aired daily. We were able to eat breakfast and dinner on the rooftop, which was delicious. Even when I didn't have any other business, I could relax on the rooftop and enjoy the view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Above all, the staff were incredibly kind. They arranged a cheap bus from the hotel to Dodoma and even provided a pickup service from the bus stop. They also organized a coffee tour for about $35, provided packed lunches and water, and even hiked to the village waterfall, making it a very affordable tour. They were always concerned about us and honestly quoted prices, so it was clear they weren't just after our money. They were always there to help us with anything, like recommendations for good restaurants nearby. If you're ever in Moshi, I highly recommend giving them a try."

"Nice and quiet hotel to fuel up for a Kilimanjaro trip. Friendly staff, good cuisine meeting culinary expectations for people from all over the world. It was also perfect to wind down after the hike, relaxing at the bar (watching the world cup) and at the pool."

Primeland Hotel ★★★
"I thought it was a new B&B, but it's actually been around for quite a while. The room was reminiscent of a 1990s hostel. The clock wasn't working, the mirror faced the bed, and there were no bedside power outlets. The bathroom water was inconsistent, running hot and cold, and wouldn't drain. There was no elevator, so the waiter had to lug my luggage up to the second floor. The restaurant was slow to serve, and there weren't many other options nearby. Since I was only staying for a few hours, it was fine. The waiters were friendly and welcoming, and the common areas were well-appointed. The value for money is quite good for the area, so I couldn't ask for too much."
