"Opposite the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse rivers lies Villa Balat, a stately building on the Meuse River, right next to the pedestrian bridge that takes you directly to the center of Namur. Balat was the architect responsible for the construction of the Royal Greenhouses in Laeken (Royal Palace). The B&B has several rooms. Two years ago, we stayed here in the Balat room, or rather, the suite. It's a large room with a large (excellent) bed and a separate bathroom with a claw-foot bathtub and a walk-in shower. This room opens onto a private terrace on the first floor, complete with a conservatory—ideal in inclement weather—and a fantastic view of the Meuse River, with the Walloon Parliament on the other side and the citadel above. The charming hostess will share tips about her city, the surrounding area, and the house. The house is a museum in itself, with books, art, figurines, and beautiful furniture. The breakfast is also fantastic: fresh rolls, cheese, charcuterie, homemade fruit juice, jam, coffee, and eggs (the chickens graze in the garden). In short, highly recommended for anyone who wants to spend a few days in a different world."

"The room was small but adequate, the mattress was very poor quality, and the bathroom had a decent shower but a strong sewer smell. The room faces the street, so there was a lot of noise from passing cars. It is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. The reception staff were friendly. For me, it was fine for one night, but no longer. I should point out that the room is on the side of the older building!"

"Location is great, just downhill off the Citadel of Namur, which is definitely a place worth to visit.  You can do free street parking just outside of the hotel from 17:00-09:00.  From 9:00 - 17:00 you can also do the free street parking but the max hours is 3hrs.  Overall a great experience to stay here."

"Very friendly staff, a beautiful and very large room but the garden could not be closed well. The location is good ( near the city centre), but the journey from the train station to the hotel brings you through a number of less fun places. A nice breakfast."

"Be aware that this hotel is undergoing renovations, and they don't tell you until three days before your arrival when they inform you that the elevator is out of service and that your room is on the second floor. When you unfortunately have health problems and can't climb more than one flight of stairs, this poses a problem... but there are no solutions offered."

"The whole mountain is a castle, overlooking the entire Namur city, the sensory effect is very good! The hotel staff is warm and active, the room is clean and tidy, a great experience!"
