Castle Hotel
"Located in the heart of the town, a 3-minute walk from the train station, with a shopping street down the back street, and about a 5-minute walk from the large Morrison supermarket. The service is excellent, but the facilities are a bit outdated."
St Ives
"Pub with rooms New managers who were very warm and welcoming... who are trying to turn this pub around. Sadly no food or breakfasts as advertised on *********** as the 'Kitchen hadn't been signed off' The rooms were clean but basic with Tea & coffee making facilities, hairdryer, shower gel, soap, towels and the bed was comfortable. No actual parking as advertised. So we had to park in a loading bay outside the pub and move the car by 8.00am The area of town was tired, but this wasn't the pub's fault. The bar prices were reasonable... If you're looking for a basic stopover then this is an ok place. Though the £75 price per night was steep for the lack of amenities."
Holiday Inn Express SWANSEA - EAST by IHG
"The hotel has what you need for a stopover and is convenient for the m4. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Parking is convenient and free. Small bar to relax in after a long drive. Bed was comfortable and overall it is very reasonably priced for a family room for 2 adults and a teenager. It is quite frustrating that no plug sockets are close to the bedside. Check-in was quite slow however the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The lift was broken, which was not a problem for us but we stayed here last October and it also broken then as well. Breakfast was good and staff helpful. Was really good that they provide a takeaway coffee cup and bag to take breakfast to go if you are in a hurry or have a teenage son that didn’t get up in time for breakfast 🙂"
Towers Hotel & Spa
"The room facilities are old, but the environment is good, many people come here for a weekend holiday."
Sgwd Gwladys Lodge
"Room was on the small side, but clean and nice presented. The shower was tiny but that was not the main issue. During the evening of our stay they had to switch off the water in the property due to flooding and the water wasn't on even when we checked out in the morning. Fine, accidents can happen but we were not been given bottled water or say bucket of rain water or something to flush the toilet. There was public toiled in the village but that is closed until 7am. So from this perspective it was worse than camping. I was promised money back 5 days ago, I have chased but it is radio silence now. I would not give negative review if some mitigation was put in place because being without water is unacceptable."
