"Traveling from Shanghai, I've been to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, and Shantou didn't feel too far, so I took a 3-hour train from Guangzhou to Shantou. After seeing many bloggers recommend hotels, I finally chose Atour. My main reason was that it's relatively new, built in 2025, but after experiencing it, I can say it was the right choice. The service, comfort, and convenience are all great. It's a short taxi ride to Xiaogongyuan, Long'an Food Street, and the high-speed rail station. The front desk lady was super enthusiastic, and even the cleaning staff on the floor were very dedicated. The food in Shantou is also amazing!"

"My kids absolutely loved this hotel on our Chaoshan trip! When we checked out, my little girl didn't want to leave, asking, ”Mommy, can we take the room with us? And the nice lady at the front desk too!” I have to give a huge shout-out to the lovely front desk staff! Knowing I was traveling alone with two kids, they proactively upgraded our room. The balcony offered a lively street view, and my kids were mesmerized watching all the stylish women passing by. In the mornings, pulling back the curtains revealed the city slowly waking up, a truly authentic and vibrant scene. The biggest surprise was the huge bathtub – the kids had a blast with bubble baths, and I finally got a moment to relax, which was a lifesaver for a solo parent traveler! The tangerine peel tea at the front desk was also delicious."

"Before coming to Shantou, I started looking for hotels. Southern China tends to have a lot of cockroaches, and I'm quite squeamish about them. After reading reviews, I finally found this hotel that claimed to be cockroach-free. The decor is less than two years old, and after staying here, I can confirm that the furniture and other items are quite new. I didn't find any cockroaches or other small insects, and the cleaning was spotless. The hotel staff were also very enthusiastic. To be extra safe, I did some preparation before arriving and bought a bottle of pure plant-based insecticide that's safe to spray on bedding. When I got here, I sprayed the entire room, closed the windows, and went out to eat. When I came back, I opened the door and windows to air it out. I stayed for several days and didn't see a single bug, so I don't know if my spraying had an effect or not. The hotel's location is excellent; it's very convenient for dining and entertainment and also close to Long'an South Road. There are electric scooters available for rent right outside the hotel, which makes getting around super easy. Another thoughtful touch was that before I arrived in Shantou, the hotel called me to let me know that there would be renovations downstairs from 9 AM to 6 PM, and it might be a bit noisy. They asked if this would affect my stay, which I found very considerate. In conclusion, if you're like me and afraid of cockroaches, I highly recommend considering this hotel."

"My best friend and I booked the newly opened Hanting Hotel Longyan South Road for our trip. I was a bit worried about the smell or comfort since it was new, but after staying two nights, we extended for another two because the location is just too convenient. It's on Longyan South Road, but not on the main street, so it's not noisy at all. We could walk to MixC shopping mall, and honestly, we had so much great food every day we couldn't try it all! The executive twin room was very spacious with one queen bed and one single bed. The standard twin room we moved to later had two single beds and was a bit smaller. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. The front desk service was also excellent. I highly recommend staying here."

"This hotel is only half a year old, so all the facilities are brand new, with no limescale or mold to be found. They have a washing machine and dryer, plus a minibar (though it only contains two bottles of water). It's very clean and hygienic, and the common area on the first floor is incredibly spacious. The location is also pretty good; I walked to Longyan South, and you can easily take an electric scooter to Plaza Ferry, Binhai Road, and Xiaogongyuan. There are plenty of food and drink options nearby too. The only downside is that there's a construction site right at the hotel entrance, which isn't very aesthetic. Sometimes after 8 AM, you can hear some banging and clanging from the hallway or other rooms. Also, while other chain hotels usually allow a free late check-out until 2 PM when not fully booked, here they only extend it to 1 PM. It's okay, but I wish they were a bit more generous."

"An absolutely fantastic experience! I chose this quiet little guesthouse, tucked away yet close to all the great food, and it blew me away. It's newly opened and the service is incredible – they seem to anticipate your every need. The young manager's recommendation for the Nan'ao Island carpool day trip from the app was incredibly good value. The place is super clean and hygienic. Right downstairs is Longyan South Road Food Street, with hundreds of restaurants; I always have a bit of choice paralysis when looking for a meal! I'll definitely stay here again next time. Highly, highly recommend it to everyone!"

"I went to Shantou and found this great hotel! The hotel has its own parking lot, which is very convenient. It is clean and tidy, and the front desk service is good. I won't say more. The location is on the bay. You can see the sea when you open the curtains. We can soak in the bathtub in our room and watch the sea. The room is also very large. It is between the small park and Longyan Road, next to the Fort Park. It is about 2.5 kilometers to the small park and Longyan Road. It is very convenient to ride an electric bike. The biggest highlight of this hotel is: the breakfast is too delicious! ! I feel that this bowl of pork rice noodles and these snacks are completely unfamiliar with the ones in the store outside. They are so delicious! We originally wanted to eat something casually for breakfast and then go out to eat. We ate so much for breakfast that we couldn't eat until the evening. The only drawback is that the restaurant does not have coffee to drink) There is a machine that can make coffee, soy milk, and Hong Kong milk, and the coffee is instant coffee. It is recommended to update the coffee machine, at least to provide American coffee, or brewed coffee."

The rooms are spacious, just ignore the view outside the window. **Cleanliness:** Spotless. **Ambiance:** The decor is luxurious and elegant; I personally really liked it. **Service:** The staff are all young and energetic. It feels like a fresh, new approach to hospitality."

"My stay at the Oriental Century Hotel in Shantou was excellent. Located on the east coast, it's conveniently situated within walking distance of seafood stalls and easily accessible by taxi to small parks, with free parking available. The rooms were of exceptional quality, featuring a sophisticated wood design, a super comfortable 2-meter king-size bed with a Simmons mattress, and panoramic windows offering stunning sunrise and sunset views of the east coast. The bathroom had a separate shower and toilet, and was equipped with Duravit toiletries, a Dyson hairdryer, and a Lelabo skincare set – very luxurious. The rooftop infinity pool was photogenic, and breakfast included Chaoshan specialties like beef balls and rice noodle rolls. The front desk proactively provided sightseeing tips, and 24-hour concierge service was available on call. Overall, a great experience with no disappointments."
