"I made a reservation on the day. Check-in is located away from the inn. It was convenient as there were hot springs and restaurants nearby. The room is in an old Japanese house, so be prepared for thin walls and fittings. However, the air conditioning worked very well and the hallways weren't too cold, so it was comfortable. "For a day trip, you can relax in the abundant hot spring water of Sanbe Onsen for just 650 yen. I recommend the open-air bath. There are several types of baths in the open-air bath, so you won't get bored even if you stay there for a long time. My favorite bath is the barrel bath, which you can soak in up to your shoulders. The barrel is large, so you can stretch your arms and legs and feel a sense of openness, making you want to stay in for a long time. On the other hand, the rock bath is not very deep, so it's more like a reclining bath, and the Goemon bath is not very wide, so you feel a bit cramped in the bath. Why not try to find a bath that suits your taste? By the way, the indoor bath is circulated and filtered, while the open-air bath is fed directly from the hot spring."

"It's located near the center of the Yunotsu Onsen hot spring town. The retro atmosphere of the hot spring town is nice, and the hot springs at the nearby Yakushi-yu bath were excellent. However, the service at the inn was extremely disappointing. Yunotsu Onsen is inconvenient, so I think another hot spring resort would have been better."

"This is the oldest inn in Yunotsu. When visiting a hot spring resort for the first time, I always choose historic inns and like to hear about the town's history and origins from the innkeeper, so I chose this one without hesitation. [Rooms] Parts of the building remain from the Meiji era. In recent years, the interior has been modernized and the number of rooms with beds has increased. I prefer traditional Japanese-style rooms, even if they are a little inconvenient, so I stayed in the "Kinnami" room, which has retained most of its Meiji-era design rather than a fully renovated room. However, this room was comfortable with a renovated bathroom, a table and chairs in the tatami room, an adjoining bedroom, and the air conditioning worked well, so there were no problems with the older room. [Food] Since I was planning a week-long stay, I figured the amount of regular ryokan meals would be too much for me, so I initially booked a room-only plan. However, after reading reviews of the inn and learning about its excellent food, I decided to book a one-night stay with two meals included. As everyone has said, both dinner and breakfast were truly delicious, and the tableware was also exquisite. However, because it was so delicious, it was impossible to eat the same amount every day, so from my second night onwards, I opted for lighter meals at nearby restaurants... (laughs). Many of the restaurant owners are young people who have moved here, and they always say, "Masuya Ryokan serves the best food in Yunotsu." It's clear that all these young chefs respect the head chef of Masuya Ryokan, and I thought this was a really great town. [Baths] Yunotsu Onsen has two hot springs, Motoyu and Yakushiyu, both of which are available as outdoor baths. Masuya Ryokan apparently draws its water from Yakushiyu. The bath area is not large and there is no open-air bath, but the water quality is excellent. This is a famous hot spring that is perfect for those who are particular about water quality and natural hot spring water. There is also a newly renovated and beautiful free-use private bath, making it convenient for people who require assistance and families with children. [Location] Located in a beautiful townscape designated as a World Heritage Site, about a 15-minute walk from JR Yunotsu Station, the inn offers shuttle service to and from the station. The hot spring town is small, so outdoor baths and restaurants are within five minutes of the inn. Ryugozen Shrine, where Yunotsu Kagura dance is dedicated, is located almost diagonally across the street. The Yunotsu Kagura performance was a powerful and magnificent piece of local performing art. Strolling around the hot spring town in a yukata was also enjoyable. [Access] The nearest station is JR Yunotsu Station on the San'in Main Line, which has few trains. It is a remote location, far from all major nearby points, including Izumo Airport, Iwami Airport, Okayama Station, Hiroshima Station, and Yamaguchi Station. However, this is precisely why the inn is located in a beautiful hot spring town that maintains its tranquility and elegance. I highly recommend this inn for anyone looking to enjoy a quiet, traditional Japanese hot spring experience."
