"The room was very clean and stylish. The service was very friendly. The bad thing was that there was no breakfast or dinner available, even for money. Luckily there was a restaurant on the other side of the river where you could get food in the evening. Really good onsen. The best sauna I have been to in Japan."

"Hitaya, which I came to again last year. The owner is always kind, the food is clean and delicious, the hot spring water melts my body, the stream flowing in front of the ryokan, I had a very comfortable rest. I will come again."

"It's a really nice ryokan, hard to get to without a car, but there are 6 open-air baths and family baths! The open-air bath is mixed bathing, so you must bring a swimsuit~ Otherwise, you'll have to buy bathing suits at the accommodation."

"It was not easy to get there because it was located somewhere in the mountains of Mt. Aso, but the sky at night was full of stars and it was so nice. The owner couple welcomed us very kindly and we were with our baby, so there was no major inconvenience."
