"A lovely place, unique. Very interesting decor. Well organised with a lot packed in to a small space. Bar and pool room, plus a dining area. Room was very well thought out, with everything needed. All was spotlessly clean and we were cooked a very tasty omi beef meal for dinner. The location was good and the owners extremely kind and helpful. An unusual and interesting hotel, well worth a visit. Highly recommended."

"Booked this stay to explore the areas around Lake Biwa. Reception was warm and friendly with an English-speaking host who provided us with the information for the stay. We booked the western style room as we preferred an attached bathroom, however the room condition was outdated and needs refurbishment, like peeling surfaces. The Japanese style room looked better when we caught a glimpse during check-out time. Nevertheless, location and amenities were great. Location is near major eateries and commercial centres by a short drive."

"The hotel is located within the Biwako Resort area and requires a vehicle. It's a guesthouse, and the staff were very friendly. Since I stayed in a detached house, there was plenty of free parking outside, which was very convenient. The room was very clean and had a private onsen (hot spring bath)."

Beautiful Japanese design (combination of old and new), spacious room with all amenities, very friendly staff and free coffee/tea/wine and snacks. The good news is that it was only a short train ride from Kyoto. We were so happy to escape from all the tourists. Otsu is an authentic village with charming Local shops and restaurants. We would highly recommend to stay at hotel Koo!"

"This time I went with my two babies. The hotel has a car that picks up from the JR station, which is convenient and fast. The hotel's dinner and breakfast are very rich, and I personally think they are delicious."

"The service is really good, and the breakfast with dinner is also very good. There is no independent bathroom in the room, and the sound insulation is very poor. You can hear clearly the dishes being arranged and cars passing by in the corridor outside. You will be given 40 minutes of private hot spring time, but the hot spring you are assigned depends on luck. I saw that there is also a room key for an outdoor hot spring. Attached is the view from the window of the lake view room."

"I stayed for business, but I heard that the hotel had a public bath, so I made a reservation hoping to relax in a bath after work. The space was more comfortable than I expected, with a sauna and an open-air bath, and the food served within the facility was delicious. Breakfast was simple, but was included and I was able to relax thoroughly. I'd definitely like to use the hotel again if there is a machine available."
