"Cabins are only3 months old, clean and fresh. Plenty of room. Great pressure in the shower. All the cooking utensils were new and we left them in that condition. Beds were firm. The manager was very helpful. These cabins were in a side street so no noise from the highway. Would stay there again."

A bit of rubber over the mouldy shower base just doesn't cut it. The room heater did not work well and the electric blanket only on one side. We would not stay here again."

"Booked 1 nights accomodation in a Queen room for $125 which incl a complementary continental breakfast. Motel is located on the Newell Highway on the southern side of town. It is single storey with car parking out the front of each room, or in our case adjacent . It is indeed an oasis with nice gardens & date palms studded throughout. It is an older style motel. Very good & welcoming check in by Felix with lots of information. Allocated room 11 down the back. The entrance alcove has plenty of bench space with bar fridge, microwave toaster & electric jug. Its a comfortable room with openable windows, upright chairs & table. The bed was comfortable & we slept well, not being disturbed at all by any traffic noise. The curtains were effective & blocked out any light. The ensuite had squeezy soap, shampoo & body lotion. Wifi worked well . Theres a TV & air con, but we didn't use either. We took up Felix suggestion for dinner at the Club House Hotel, an easy 500m walk along a concrete path from the motel. The food & service was very good. This motel is extremely good value, with the complementary breakfast, the comfortable bed & the very helpful staff."

"Whilst the building itself was impressive, the Music Room was not. For the price I expected some luxury awaiting me, but not to be. It was very cold outside and understandably the old building took a while to warm up, but the furnishings and general condition was old, tired and dreary. The bed was very hard, I didn’t sleep well, pillows hard and stale. No extra blankets provided even though the dead of winter. The bathroom is 4 rooms away from the bedroom, so the midnight rush was very cold indeed. Breakfast was provided, bacon, eggs, bread for toast, DIY which was fine, and some complimentary port on a tray, thank you. Parking is on the street, not secure. We stayed in another b&b 2 nights previously at a much cheaper rate and were blown away by the luxury and attention to detail. So Old Parkes Convent you need to lift your game, or drop your price."
