Near airport especially good for landed at night . Excellent food of the restaurant and breakfast. Nice swimming pool and room. Beach Sunset view is great. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Surprise birthday cake during breakfast time is so impressive and sweet.

Let's start with the positives: The overall all-inclusive experience at this Marriott Merlin Beach was quite good. The hotel has a great tropical vibe, and the pools and family activities are abundant, making it very suitable for family trips. The all-inclusive dining options are diverse and tasty, so you don't have to worry about food and drinks. The location is a bit quiet, though, and a distance from the bustling Patong area, so you'll need a taxi to go out. Although the rooms are old, they are clean and perfect for families looking for a relaxing holiday. Downsides: The room had a slight musty smell. Service: Check-in was at 3:30 PM. At check-in, we were told we could continue to use the all-inclusive dining for an hour after check-out, but at check-out, they said no! My child called to ask for a 1-hour late check-out, and before they could finish explaining why, the person on the phone flat-out said it wasn't possible, regardless of the reason! My child commented that the lady was very stern. The luggage had to be brought to the car ourselves; the concierge just watched us load the car, pretending not to see us and offering no help with our bags (my child had prepared a tip, but we didn't end up giving it). After a four-night stay, this is our honest review. We probably won't be returning next time; the service just doesn't measure up.
